This was a somewhat tricky job, because we asked Craftsmen to coordinate with a mold abatement company we wanted to have remove some mold in the attic. Craftsmen had to re-schedule a number of times due to weather, and each time that meant re-coordination with the mold abatement team. But they did it and the two teams finally were able to find a stretch of good days to get their respective jobs done. In the end, Craftsmen did a great job on the roof and insulation. They also abided by the recommendations of the mold abatement team and did some extra work, like additional venting and replacing a lot of planking, to insure we don't have any further mold problems. I had another bid by another big national roofing company that was a bit lower than Craftsmen, but I could tell that the other company was going to cut corners. For example, the other company didn't want to coordinate with the mold abatement team and said they would just do it themselves, but they described how they would treat the mold and I knew it wasn't adequate. Craftsmen was willing to work with the outside mold abatement team right from the start and stuck to their word. My neighbor is a difficult guy to satisfy when it comes to home care, and even he has told me he thinks Craftsmen did a great job. I would definitely use them again for other big home improvement jobs.

Overall appearance after completion was excellent. At final inspection the city building inspector made the comment that he looked it over very carefully because the design of our house is such that there were a couple of tricky areas that builders often mishandle. In this case, he said everything was done correctly and the contractor had done an excellent job. Communication with office staff was good throughout the project. The cost was perhaps a bit above average but the quality of the work was well worth the price.

The whole process, from estimate to installation, went smoothly. Everyone I communicated with was courteous and professional. I am absolutely thrilled with the new windows. I have already noticed the significant noise reduction due to the double panes, and the windows will definitely keep the heat in and the cold out come winter. When the time comes to replace our remaining windows, I will contact Craftsmen Home Improvements again.

The roof on my house had been replaced about 12 years ago but was showing its age. Although no shingles were missing there was a visible "ripple" between the rafters and selected soft spots. I suspected that the boards beneath the shingles were rotting or broken. I obtained two proposals, one from Craftsmen and another from a competing company. To the other company's credit, they discovered the problem with the roof boards. The channels that allow air to flow from the eves to the attic peak had been improperly installed and were causing a build up of heat an moisture that was causing the plywood on the roof to warp. However, Craftsmen's bid was the lowest for the roof , so I requested that they add the work to repair the channels and add more insulation, consistent with the second company's bid. Craftsmen's bid for the insulation was also lower than the other company so I went with Craftsmen. They came early in the morning with a large enough crew to finish both the insulation and roofing in a single day. They even helped me take down an old basketball backboard and hoop so I could trow it away as well. The workers were courteous and hard working. They completely cleaned the work site, I found no nails or roofing materials left around the entire house. They were very anxious to please and to keep their good recommendation on Angie's list. I give them an A on everything except professionalism only because they didn't look in the attic to see what was causing the roof boards to warp. I would recommend them to anyone who asks.

Craftsmen were very good from start to finish. Jim Kosloski met with us for over two hours explaining in detail the work that needed to be done. Communication with the office was excellent. I do not know of any other contractor that hires a full-time employee to just communicate with the customer. The crew was excellent and on-time. They completed their work on time and on budget. They even did a little extra work for us at our request, at no charge. I highly recommend Craftsmen, in fact my neighbor asked me about their work.

Everything went well. Estimate process was timely and professional and informative. Work was scheduled in advance and performed per schedule. Communication in all aspects was excellent. Would not hesitate to use this company again.

I was really surprised with their overall professionalism and prompt service. Jim was my sales associate and he was very nice to work with and answered all my questions. I had a flat area that got ice damns in the winter. He came up with a plan to stop any leaks and prevent them in the future. Joan who coordinates everything in the office is outstanding and really takes the time to answer your questions and treats you like family. Jethro was the foreman and really did a great job. The guys cared about my landscaping and completely cleaned up afterwards. I would used these guys again in a heartbeat! My insurance company denied my claim so I had to pay for it myself which made me do more research on the roofer I used. I am happy with my choice and they did everything I asked at a reasonable price. No one likes to pay for a roof, but they seemed to be priced right and was professional throughout.

Craftsmen is a very professional company. Their sales person, office contact, and roofing crew were all great with communication and follow-through. I had three estimates done, and while theirs was not the cheapest, it was close enough and I liked the reports on Angie's List about them as well as a recommendation from a friend who had used them. Joan, their office contact person, is the key to everything working well. She handles all the details and keeps you in the loop. Jethro, the crew foreman, was knowledgeable and communicative. I love my new roof. My son used them as well and had his roof done the next week. He agrees with everything I reported.

We couldn't be happier with the work from Craftsmen! We originally hired them to install a flat roof on the back of our house. They were one of the few companies we found that would install a flat roof with a warranty longer than 3 years. Their rubber membrane roof carries a 10 year warranty, which was the best we found. Jim came out to do the original estimate and really impressed us with his knowledge of the product and options available to us. We ended up waiting a year from the time of our original estimate, but went back to them as soon as we were able to get the job done. The work was completed exactly as described and we love the results. The work crew was polite and did a great job with the cleanup. We had another great experience with the windows. The price was significantly less than we expected, which allowed us to go ahead and have nearly all of our windows replaced. One thing we appreciated was that we felt they were really honest with us. Our initial plan was to have all windows replaced, including some smaller windows in our kitchen. When the measurer came to take final measurements, they determined that they probably could not make the windows look like we wanted them to look with the product we chose. Rather than go forward or try to convince us of something we didn't really want, they recommended just not replacing them, which we agreed was the best choice. The crew did a great job! They really took care not to damage our existing molding and returned everything to exactly how they found it, including re-hanging all of our blinds. Finally, they really stand by their work. After they left we found a couple of spots where the caulking needed touch ups. We called them and they came back to fix it within the week. They let us know that they stand by their work, with a lifetime quality guarantee, which really impressed us. Overall, we would highly recommend their services!

I contacted them to obtain estimate for new roof, leaving message at their main number. I received a call the next day from representative stating that they were currently too backed up to take on any more roofing jobs, therefore did not obtain an estimate. They did get back to me in a professional and timely manner though.

The person that I have been working with has been great. Eric came out and took pictures of the siding sample next to my siding and sent it to the insurance company. He is also sending measurements to the insurance company to get the coverage.

They did quality work and we are already recommending them to neighbors and friends.

I had used Craftsman several times in the past for windows, siding and roffing work. After the tornado that hit Minneapolis, I called Dan that Sunday and asked if he could come out and get our roof covered to prevent any further damage. He stated that was not one of their normal services, but he thought he could find a couple of his guys who might be willing to help. Within 45 minutes, Dan called me back and told me two guys would show up Monday morning and cover the roof. Well, 3 guys showed up and had my rood covered by 9 am. Dan's team was quick. professional and did a great job performing a service that is over and above what they are accustomed to. It is very nice to know there are companies out there who are willing to help, with no promise of future work, when one suffers damage in a storm. Thank you, Craftsman, for being one of those companies.

Jim and Tom worked as a team on the project which turned out to be more difficult than initial thought as to install the basement door, they need to cut the concrete block to expand the rough opening. Jim and Tom make a great team. Excellent work, professional and easy to get along with. Always punctual. Did a great job of cleaning up after the work and were very mindful of the tulips in the front garden when it came to installing the glass packs. Craftsman didn't charge me extra for the effort to expand the rough opening of the basement door and arranged to have the glass delivered to the house at no extra charge. I've used Craftsman for several different projects and have never been disappointed. Excellent customer service with jobs completed with skill and pride in their work.

We were deciding between 2 companies and Craftsman seem to have more of their ducks in a row. We enjoyed working with them. Their roofers were polite and cleaned up wonderfully. Joan did a great job keeping us informed every minute. And Jim was very informative with the sales part. Thank you!

Tom arrived as scheduled and started the work; joined by Jim as expected. They were both considerate of our household and were pleasant and professional.

I"m fussy about who does work on my home. I will use Craftsmen again for work on windows and siding. Jim and Dan are great to work with.

Overall it went well. There was a problem with the painting and ordering of the window. They came back out and fixed it and I am happy with the end product.

The work was of the highest quality, and the the folks in the office who did the scheduling, relayed messages, etc. could not have been more pleasant and responsible. So, too, were the workers who never failed to ask, if they had a question, regarding how we wanted something done. I am a college professor, unschooled in such matters, but certainly aware of the many horror stories I have heard from friends and read in the newspapers. Craftsmen Home Improvements was patient with my questions, got back to me if there was no quick answer, and soon engendered my confidence. I can safely say that they are the best people who work in home repairs with whom we have ever dealt, and we are in our sixties. From here on out, whenever we need to have something done on the house, Craftsmen Home Improvements is who we will call first. When they say they take customer satisfaction seriously, they really mean it. What a joy it was to work with good, friendly, honest and highly competent folks. Were the world always so simple!

Simply put, this company is exceptional! Response to my initial call was prompt and an appointment for estimate was scheduled with ease. (Not the case with other companies I called). Jim arrived on time and did a thorough inspection of my roof and attic. Unfortunately, my insurance company would not cover these items since the interior damage was caused by ice dams, hence I was unable to get the work done. Both Dan and Jim were very professional throughout the process and I will definitey contact this company when the roof work is needed.

The bid for the work was fair and reasonable. In addition to being prompt and professional, I was impressed that the estimator included boxed covers to the four, sealed kitchen exhaust fans for this bid for a small apartment building, something other companies have missed. And, they were more than reasonable to return the $150 "Angie's List Big Deal" when we changed our mind, due to our own money constraints, a full two months after we first spoke to them.

They were all very polite but I decided not to do the project.

We had hail damage from a storm in June 2010. Many companies were circling like vultures in our neighborhood and I decided to call a company on the List to make sure I was getting a good company. We could not have been happier with our whole experience. Jim was great with going over all of the damage with me and was here when our insurance company came. He was a great advocate without being pushy. We needed a new roof and casements for 6 windows as well as other minor repairs. They were very accommodating when we wanted to push the work until the end of the storm season and kept us up to date at every step of the process(window delays). Joan was great with helping me understand all of the paperwork that needed to be filed. Even when there was a small hiccup, I knew the company would stand by their work. They might be slightly more expensive than some other companies, but they are a great group of people to work with and you won't be disappointed.
