Philip Giampaolo is a franchise owner for College Pro and stained a neighbor's deck this spring. I needed the same and talked with him. He came over and gave an estimate for my job and the price was reasonable, I saw his work on my neighbor's and hired him. This was in late May 2017. I sent him a deposit June 5, 2017. He informed me he had some employee turnover and it would be early July to do the deck. I accepted that. Early July came, no word. I waiting until mid-July to contact him. It took multiple attempts, he finally called back. He set a date to power wash the deck on July 21, 2017 at noon and stain it that Wed. the 26th. (Late July). July 21st came and went, no show, no calls. I called him that night, no answer. I called Sunday, no answer, no return of any calls. I called him that Monday and said I hope to hear from him by 8am Wed. or I am cancelling the contract and hope he will return my deposit. Nothing. No returned calls and I have yet to see a check in my mailbox. I borrowed a power washer on the 27th and cleared it off and spent Friday and Saturday staining the deck myself which I should had done in May rather than waste half a summer on more sun damage to the deck. I wanted to hire him because the deck needed staining and my schedule in the spring didn't allow time for me to do it (kids sports). Time vs. money, it was worth hiring to get it done. It was a $650 job and he showed no interest in any customer service. I would have accepted an explanation to the delays and worked with him but going dark with my money I can't have. I don't think I will see my $60 deposit back.
