I received Chalmers Construction, LLC based on a request I made to Angie's List for assistance locating a Drywaller in my area. I requested a quote and was contacted by Scott. It was Monday morning and he was in the area so we made arrangements for him to come to my house and provide an estimate. Scott arrived as scheduled and we walked through the job. Since I didn't know Scott, or Chalmers Drywall I asked all the basic questions: How long have you been in business?; Are you registered with the state?; Do you have insurance?. Scott answered all of my questions and stated that he had availability to start the job the following Monday. I agreed to the quote an we shook hands on it. Scott then mentioned that I would need to order the drywall and mud to be delivered to my residence. I thought that was a little weird, but assumed it's not that different than putting a downpayment on the job for materials. Scott gave me the phone number for his Drywall Supply company and asked me to call them and place the order to be delivered by Friday so the job could start on Monday. When Scott left I decided to send a quick email to document our agreement with the start/end dates committed to and the arrangements regarding me ordering the materials and what my final cost would be. At that point I have not heard from Scott or Chalmers Construction, LLC. I called and left several messages for Scott, and sent another email stating that the order needed to placed by Wednesday, to receive the materials by Friday so the job could start the following Monday. I did not get a single response. If I would have ordered the supplies I would have been sitting on $1,000 worth of material and nobody to complete the work. If Scott from Chalmers Construction LLC comes out to give you a quote I highly recommend you document it in writing before you spend any money on materials.
