They did a wonderful job! they are also very reasonable in price, very punctual, and also flexible with their scheduling.

These are our new "go to" guys for tree service. Jim is a take charge individual who knows his stuff, telling you what needs to be done and what should wait (he told us to wait until winter on our crabapple tree). He instills confidence from the get go. Jim and his ample team descended on our property (very) early in the morning and had completed their work before we knew it, leaving almost no trace of their having been here (aside from trimmed trees). They appeared to be an experienced, organized, and highly efficient crew, not a gaggle of youngsters learning the ropes at low wages. You'll be putting your valuable assets in good hands. The cost of the work seemed entirely reasonable. We actually didn't solicit any other quotes after our initial meeting with Jim - we wanted the work done and he was raring to go. It did take a bit longer than wished for our first meeting to receive an estimate, but I'm guessing that a crew like this is in demand and there isn't a lot of deadtime off the branches. Ultimately, our patience was rewarded with excellent service.

Responsive to my call. Came quickly (next day?) for an onsite estimate. This took about 10 minutes. Clearly understood what I was asking for. Gave me the quote which was lower than some of the people who had been driving through the neighborhood this spring advertising their services. Due to the tornado in downtown Minneapolis, the service had to be delayed by about 10 days from the original request. So I was disappointed but understood under the circumstances. Once the date was reconfirmed, a big crew came out to perform the service. They did a great job. The yard was cleaned up with hardly any debris left. The original qoute was spot on. I would use them again and have already referred them to 2 neighbors who were impressed by the service.

I had an estimate by an arborist from another company prior to contacting Central MN Tree Service. Jim Savre from Central MN Tree Service came out to give an estimate on removing a dying red maple tree, removing and trimming storm damaged amur maples, and trimming several other trees and bushes. Jim's bid was the lowest by hundreds of dollars, but it did not address many of my items. He did not feel much of the structural or cosmetic work I was requesting was necessary at this time because he had done some trimming for us about a year ago. Of course I don't want to pay for unnecessary work, but I do want my trees and bushes to look and grow properly.

Everything was done with care. Jim is an tree specialist and is careful to do what is best for the tree or shrub. This is the best tree service in the metro area.

This is the third time I've used Central MN Tree Service. I stopped soliciting multiple bids after the first time - I just go with these guys. This experince began with calling a leaving a message on the answering machine. Jim called me back that evening - from FL where he and his family were vacationing. Jim arranged to give me an estimate the day after he returned home, a Saturday. He showed up promptly for the estimate. The cost was reasonable and within my expectations. We agreed. He promised to return Monday afternoon to begin the job. The crew appeared as promised. The job could not be completed the first day, but they left the scene clean with the logs stacked. They returned early the next morning and finihsed the clean up. Great job again.

This is the second time I have used this company. And everything went the same as the first time - just plain excellent. I could barely tell that they had been on the property. I recommend this firm to anybody.

This is the 2nd time we've had Jim and his crew out to work on our property. He does a great job, is very professional, and has excellent customer service/responsiveness/follow-through. He brings a big crew and lots of big equipment. Therefore, he doesn't do small jobs. He seems a little on the high side of cost but his work is excellent so it's worth it.

An oriental tree split and fell across the sidewalk leading to my house during the ice and snow storm in early winter 2010. I called Central MN Tree Service and promptly received an answer with a preliminary estimate for the services. It was to be examined that afternoon but the service provider could not make it so I recieved a phone call telling me that the examination would occur the next morning with a time certain. The analysis of the situation took place at exactly the time scheduled and the estimated was confirmed. By the end of the day the tree was removed and the area was left neat and clean. It had to have been a very busy time for the company. Nevertheless, I received prompt attetion and was treated courtiously and professionally. I would use the company again and would not hesitate to refer it to others needing this type of service..

After getting a quote in mid November we needed to leave for a little while. They were going to come out and remove the trees after we got back but after talking we decided that we could wait until we returned before Thanksgiving. In the storm the week before Thanksgiving we had a tree fall on the north side of our house so we needed them to look at it and take it with them also. After finally finding time back in Mn after the holiday they were able to come out and remove the 3 trees and grind all the stumps down. They were very efficient and finished all the work including removing the debris in about 2 hours. They even dropped the price a little for the tree that fell on the north side because they didn?t have much to do but cut it apart and remove the debris.

Overall result was positive despite what occurred during the service call. The reason the amount spent was zero is due to slight damage that occurred to a shed in my back yard. 1 piece of steel siding was damaged when Jim's crew was pruning my neighbors oak tree which hangs over my property. A large limb apparently kicked back and dented the siding. Jim called me to inform me at work right after it happened. What's amazing is that he had already contacted the siding company (he somehow knew it was abc seamless steel siding) and requested an estimator to come out. Jim did a great job of cleaning up (fortunately right before the snowstorm I might add) my oak and a numer of my neighbors trees and did not charge me for my tree (estimate was $300 for a big tree with much required clean up) due to the damage to my shed. Summary is that yes the very nice shed which I recently paid 12K to have built and landscaped sustained some minor damage, but Jim handled it very professionally and did not charge me for the work he did perform on my oak. After my initial upset from the call at work, I hardly lifted a finger to have the shed restored to new. This is the 2nd time I've used Central MN Tree for service. 2 summers ago Jim had his crew out to clean up all of our mature old back yard trees - large Linden, Honeylocust and green ash. They spent much of the day and cleaned everything up very nice. The charge for that was approx $800 which was a great price at the time. They are my tree service of choice and I recommend them to all my nieghbors in our heavily treed neighborhood.

The crew worked on 9 trees and removed all the wood and brush. What really pleased me was they didn't bring any heavy equiptment on the lawn, but did the work by climbing the trees and using ropes to remove the branches . Real Lumber jack kind of movements. Fun to watch. Very professional. Did the work in about six hours and completely cleaned up

Jim came out the same day I called him and gave me a detailed and professional written bid. Jim and all of his employees were very professional and did a great job of protecting our back lawn by laying down plywood and generally being careful not to damage our grass and plants.

My first impression was a good one as Jim was the first company to return my message requesting an estimate. For the estimate, he was on time, professional and courteous. Of the bids I recieved, his was the lowest initial bid not including one company that offered to match Jim's bid after coming in at close to double Jim's bid. Moreover, Jim not only bid the tree removal I requested but offered to throw in a few other stumps to be ground down and dead wood a tree near the tree to be removed. This ability to add value was very welcomed! On the day before the job, Jim called to confirm our appointment and answer my questions. The day of the job, Jim and his team were there and gone before I returned home from work. When I came home, one tree was gone and the other tree was trimmed perfectly. I had marked 5 stumps for grinding, although I had one other large stump and some minor shrub stumps also in the yard. I didn't want to be seen as taking advantage of Jim so I didn't mark them. But no worries, Jim and his team took care of them as well. I have a stump free yard to mow now! And, to put the crowning touch on the above and beyond service, they even put the section of fence I took down back in place well enough that I could let the dog out when I got home without worry of her running off! The yard looks like someone worked in it, but in no way, shape or form can you tell that there was heavy equipment there to do the job. Everything was cleaned up, including, as a bonus, a downed branch I hadn't gotten around to moving. I can't say enough good things about Jim and his crew. These may seem like little things but they made a huge impression. To summarize, I got exceptional value for my money, prompt, courteous, professional service, top notch workmanship, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Central Minnesota Tree Service to anyone that asks.

I called and set up an appointment with Jim, he showed up when he said he would and promptly supplied a quote for the project. I was in the process of getting a couple other bids on the project, so I thanked him and he left ( no pressure at all) The next day a storm hit our property and knocked down a couple trees unrelated to the above described project. I contacted Jim, ( who had to be swamped with his normal work load and also storm related work) He offered to come out and take care of the storm damaged trees the next day. He showed up with his crew and expertly handled the fallen trees. The following week, he and his crew took care of the initial project I contacted him with. At all times, he and his crew were prompt, courteous, professional and thorough. I will definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

One problem that was encountered was that while grinding the birch clump, they cut our underground sprinkler system. We did not know that this was now under the tree (sprinkler was installed 20 years ago). They tried to fix it and when that didn't work, they sent out a sprinker professional to complete the repair - at their cost. The sprinkler repair company showed up the next day, fixed the sprinklers and all was well.

Jim arrived to give an estimate when he said he would, and was professional and polite. He was no-pressure, and even told us that certain other tree work could wait at least a year if our budget didn't allow for it right away. The work crew arrived when he said they would, and did a good job. I will definitely hire them again for future tree service.

Called for an estimate-Jim came out on a saturday at 5pm-had the tree out by that thursday. very responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. best price too. would recommend

I can hardly tell that the tree was ever there. They did a light grind on the roots so as not to disturb the cottonwood. The only reason I gave them a "B" for punctuality was that they are so busy they couldn't come out for 10 days - which they let me know right away. They were punctual to what they promised.

They called me back almost right away. I had called two other companies. One kept giving me the run around, and one never called back! Central did a great job. They showed up when they said they would, and I didn't have to wait long. They did a great job!

I called Jim at Central Minnsota Tree Service because I have a beautiful Norway Maple that I believe woodpeckers are going after. I explained that it is one of two matching trees that made it through the 1965 tornadoes with my family so I'd like to save it if at all possible. Jim said he'd stop out. He called me back in about ten minutes and was at my house. He told me what each tree in my yard was and said they were in good shape, He said with this particular tree, this was the natural order of things and I should enjoy this beautiful tree while I had it. He told me when the branch the woodpeckers are going after fails, it will fall in the street. What great service on a free estimate. I would recommend Jim and Central Minnesota Tree Service.

They arrived exactly when they said they would. The two maple had not been pruned in decades so they needed quite a bit of pruning, but they did it quickly and left absolutely no mess behind. Very professionl, and the trees look fabulous. I absolutely would recommend Central Minnesota Tree Service

I called him on 3/10 to arrange for an estimate. We agreed on him arriving around 3:30 at the latest. 30 minutes later he was here. The estimate was reasonable and I agreed to have the work done on the following Monday. He and the crew arrived 10 minutes early and greeted me. We went over what needed to be done and I asked Jim if we could add a tree to take down. He said no problem. They started work right away. His boom operator, Jason, is an absolute surgeon. He deftly worked his way between two trees to reach the extra tree and did a marvelous job removing it. Jim worked on the largest tree. He and his helper John cut and roped down all the branches, doing a marvelous job of avoiding our garden. I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe the work - we have extensive gardens and they avoided damaging the identifying tags beautifully. Only two dents in the ground that will need repair (totally unavoidable). Cleanup was great. They work with extremely safely at all times. You just cannot go wrong with Jim and his crew. I told him I will call him back in October to work on a huge double oak that needs trimming in November.
