for some reason my fuel pump was not working and they fixed it as cheap as possible because I wasn't going to keep the vehicle so they did only enough to get the vehicle running and that is all I wanted them to do. They have always done what I have asked and nothing extra, they always check with me first and then advise me what they did do and what they didn't do such as find out why the fuel pump wasn't working, which I didn't care to know why because I was getting rid of the vehicle in a month. They even gave me a good estimate of how much the work would cost. I always trust them.

I bought a used car and after the purchase, took it to Cedar Auto Repair. When the day of my appointment arrived, they went over the vehicle and let me know the condition it was in. As there was no immediate need for any repairs, they did not charge me anything for the inspection. Amazing!

EXCELLENT! I have been taking my car(s) to these guys for at least the last 13 yrs. I have never had such an honest,helpful, and friendly experience anywhere else. Remarkably this includes friends an family! They make it as convenient as possible. They will let you bring your car in and will drop you off and/or pick you up. Cedar Avenue Repair has after hours and early drop off and pick up if it is easier for the car owner. I could go on but will finish with three words; HELPFUL! HONEST! FRIENDLY!

I came in last week, they looked and confirmed the problem and made an appointment. The truck was drivable so I wasn't in a hurry. I dropped the truck off the evening before and it was fixed by 9:30 AM for less money than I expected. I've had them do several other things on my truck (brakes, alternator, etc.) and I feel that they are honest, fairly priced and well informed. I've asked them about other issues w/ my vehicle and they've always got an informed answer that shows experience and skill. It's a small shop so they might not be able to get you in right away but I'll keep going back, that's for sure.

I can't say enough good about these guys. My first contact with them was a month ago when my truck needed a new fuel pump. It had been towed to Bobby and Steve's. Bobby and Steve's estimated the repair would cost about $1,000. I thought that sounded expensive so I went onto Angie's list and and bid two other mechanics. Cedar Ave's bid came in at $700. Bobby and Steve's met the price and I didn't want to pay for another tow so I had them do it. A couple of weeks ago I needed to take the truck in for a couple of miscellaneous repairs that had been diagnosed by another mechanic about 6 months ago. The other mechanic's bid was $750 for three repairs. I called Cedar Ave and they bid $600 so I took it there. They discovered that the other mechanics diagnoses had been wrong and there was something else leaking. Cedar Ave only charged me $400 for the work they ultimately performed. These guys are great. They are very professional, straight forward, and honest. I have unfortunately had to have alot of work done on this truck, and I have been to several mechanics around the Twin Cities. This is the first time I felt I wasn't paying a premium for being ignorant and female. They have a small, no-nonsense shop - you absolutely won't be paying for alot of extra overhead.

Had a great experience. Had not needed much by way of auto repair since moving to the Twin Cities and the Angies List reputation of Cedar Avenue Repair motivated us to use them the first time - they will be our repair shop from now on! Was particularly impressed with their honesty about the work needed - We suspected a brake problem, but were told the brakes were fine and simply needed a bit of extra fluid.

Cedar Avenue Repair got me in right on time, I didn't have to wait. It is within walking distance from my home. Their prices are pretty reasonable. They do a good job.

We bought continental and Bridgestone tires. It could withstand any type of weather. The tires have lasted for 3 years. The experience was good.

My husband has been going there for 5 years and it is reasonable. They are located close by and that's how we started going to them.

Although usually booked out a few days to a week, they did quick work and I feel they are very reasonable with their costs and honest about what the car problem is. Usually can identify the problem upon description and work done and problem accurate. Knowledgeable people.

Overall, this time went the same as always - great work, on time, felt like I got my money's worth.

We're very pleased with the service we receive from Cedar Avenue Repair. As was true with this experience, they are great about assessing a problem, offering solutions, and keeping to the estimate on both time and charges.

Straight up, thoughtful, polite, explained everything, and charged NOTHING even though it was a new problem unrelated to the previous repair. He also gave a heads up on possible future maintenance issues for my type of vehicle.

COST WAS O.K., THOUGH MUCH CHEAPER ON MY HUSBAND'S CAR AT 90,000. THE OLDER MAN WHO WORKS (OWNS?) THE PLACE IS NOT NICE AND DID NOT TREAT ME WITH RESPECT. THE WORK THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO AND THE WORK THEY DID WAS NOT THE SAME. FOR EXAMPLE, BECAUSE THE SPARK PLUGS WERE ''HARD TO GET TO'' IN MY 2002 SUBARU FORESTER, THEY SIMPLY DID NOT CHECK THEM AS THEY SAID THEY WOULD WHEN I DROPPED OFF THE CAR. ALSO, THE WORK WAS COMPLETED SO QUICKLY - THAT I AM SKEPTICAL AS TO WHETHER THEY JUST CHANGED THE OIL AND DID NOT CHECK MUCH ELSE, BUT I CAN'T VERIFY THAT BECAUSE I DID NOT STAY WHILE THE WORK WAS BEING DONE. THIS GARAGE WAS RECOMMENDED BY A FRIEND, BUT THE OLD MAN/OWNER CAN NOT TREAT CUSTOMERS THE WAY HE TREATED ME IF HE WANTS MORE NEW CUSTOMERS, HIS RUDENESS ALONE LOWERED THE SCORE FROM WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A B OR C TO A D. THE YOUNGER GUY WHO WORKED THERE WAS VERY NICE - ADVICE- THE OLD MAN SHOULD JUST STAY AWAY FROM CUSTOMERS AND THEY WOULD BE BETTER OFF!

I HAVE HAD MY BRAKES DONE, OIL CHANGED, TIRES ROTATED AND GENERAL WORK DONE TO MY CAR. THEY ARE NOT CROOKS AND YOU CAN TRUST THEM. THEY WILL CALL YOU BEFORE THEY DO ANY WORK AND WILL SHOOT YOU STRAIGHT WITH WHAT NEEDS WORK AND WHAT DOES NOT. THEY HAVE EVEN GIVEN ME A RIDE TO WORK!

THEY WERE VERY POLITE, THOROUGH, AND FINISHED THE WORK WHEN PROMISED. THEY EXPLAINED WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE AND DIDN'T NEED TO BE DONE YET, AND WHY. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN.

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THE CAR WAS HAVING TROUBLE IDLING. NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE ALSO. EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND HOW IT MIGHT COME BACK. I WAS WORRIED ABOUT GETTING GOUGED ON THE 'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' THING, BUT THEY DID AN HONEST JOB ON IT AND ONLY CHARGED $20 TO RUN THE DIAGNOSTICS AND TURN IT OFF.
