It went okay. The quality was not exactly satisfactory. We would use them again.

He really talked too much. We just left the house to let him finish.

I was, I believe, fraudulently overcharged for carpet cleaning work done in my home. On Dec. 3, 2015, Greg Langkand of Carpet Dave's Carpet Cleaning, Minneapolis, MN (formerly Gregory's Carpet Cleaning), cleaned the carpet in my home. He charged me $1,612.50 for work which was done in 2012 by A-1 Cleaning for $562. Greg charged me $529 for that same work in 2009. Before doing the work, Greg did indicate their prices had gone up. He also indicated they charge extra for berber carpet, and that all my carpet was berber. I don't understand that, since all the carpet people I have talked to since tell me that berber carpet is the easiest to clean. None of my carpet is berber, confirmed by Town & Country Carpet & Floor Covering.
Carpet Dave's currently has an ad on groupon.com advertising cleaning of 7 rooms and a hallway for $250 before the coupon, $99 with the coupon. I have 11 rooms and 2 flights of stairs. I have researched the Minneapolis market for what it should cost to clean my home. It appears to me a general range is $425 to $650.
He did not dry vacuum the carpet. I moved all the furniture except two kitchen chairs which I overlooked. We do not have any kids or pets. We do not smoke There are no stains in our carpet. We have a cleaning lady come every two weeks.
I have used Greg for cleaning for approximately 25 years (7 or 8 cleanings), and always felt I was being charged fairly and was satisfied with the work. When he presented his invoice, which erroneously indicated all berber carpet, I had not done any research on pricing, had not looked up his prior charges to me, did not know whether he was telling the truth claiming the carpet was berber, and didn't know what current market prices were. I naievely paid him the amount on the invoice. As I was writing the check, he asked me to make it out to him personally, even though the invoice was Carpet Dave's Carpet Cleaning.
Given his statement that their prices had gone up before he started the cleaning, given his misrepresentation that the carpet was all berber for which they charge extra, given the groupon ad which implies their cost of cleaning 7 rooms and a hallway is $250 before the coupon, and then charging me $1,612.50, leads me to conclude he intended to perpetrate a fraud on me even before he entered my house.
