CARLBERG RADIATOR SVC

My vehicle had a number of heating cooling issues that to diagnose correctly, needed some one whom is very very VERY experienced in automotive air conditioning troubleshooting as well as engine heating and cooling. Carlberg Automotive was able to diagnose the cause of several issues no one else could figure out, and I do mean, no one could figure this out.

Technical: The front grill of my van has an AC condenser in front of the radiator. 3 months earlier, on a job while parked under a cottonwood tree in full bloom, cottonwood seeds falling from the tree above were pulled into the engine compartment and forming a layer of lint on the front of the radiator. This prevented airflow through the radiator causing overheating when ever I parked and left the engine running. It also prevented the air conditioner from getting cold. Also an aftermarket modification known as "rear heat" was improperly installed creating a secondary cause of overheating. This combination of causes would likely been missed by 90% of all mechanics and missed, would likely ruined the entire engine causing a repair in excess of $8,000 for this vehicle.

This becomes a big deal WORTH WRITING ABOUT and I am extatic.

Carlberg did methodical testing to reach conclusion re: cause of the problem, then followed through with excellent repair work, good quality radiator, and fair price.

Bob Hagen (owner) did a welding repair on an aluminum radiator. His work was good and he had the job finished the same day we dropped off the radiator. For the work he did the price ($40) was a pleasant surprise.
