Description of Work: Treadmill wouldn't start. Bob told us what part was probably the problem and recommended we get it so he could replace it during the initial troubleshooting so we wouldn't have to pay for a 2nd trip. Bob's cost was really affordable, and the repair was right on target. Bob also gave us information on what to look for in the future to prevent a premature board failure.

Description of Work: Bob tried everything to solve the problem with our treadmill and get it going again. His dedication to the customer is really impressive. Unfortunately, we'll have to get a new one, but he gave me good advice on brands and selling the parts. Should we have treadmill problems in the future, he'll definitely be who we call.

 + -1 moreI emailed Bob and he replied the same day to set up an appointment. He arrived on time, tore the machine apart, told us what was wrong, and fixed it. It runs now just like it did when it was new (it's three years old). The belt had slipped and the console could be replaced if we wanted - he checked the price and we decided to use the old one. He certainly knew his eliptical machines and was a pleasure to work with. I would recommend him highly to anyone that has a machine that wasn't running correctly.

 + -1 moreI didn't use Bob even though I called him first based on his reputation here on Angie's List. The sole reason I didn't use his services was he didn't wish to come out and look at the machine, although he did give me some tips for fixing it myself. I ended using another vendor who came out promptly.
Description of Work: I contacted Bob's Treadmill Repair and he answered the phone promptly. I explained the fault my treadmill was having, and he told me a few things to check and said it might be a circuit board problem (it was, in fact.) He told me to call around and get a new circuit board and a wiring diagram and to install it myself as it was a do-it-yourself level job. It turned out to be MUCH more complicated than that, as I noted in my writeup of Ken Lauren Service Company (Ken eventually came out to deal with the repair.) My treadmill is not a cheap model and I have ran about 2,000 miles on it over the years; it's been great so I didn't want to do it myself and potentially mess it up. I don't know how to fix treadmills, which is why I called Bob. I have no doubt that Bob is very good at repairing fitness equipment and he is a very nice man, but as the customer it's my dollar. If I want to pay for a professional to evaluate an item and that's what they are in business for, it would be better if they would just agree to do the service or at least simply say they aren't interested.

Description of Work: Bob came the same day that I called him, actually, within 2 hours. How is that for service? He tuned up my treadmill, changed the belt and rescued a pair of earrings at the same time. It is so hard these days to get contractors to even call you back within days and it is refreshing to have a provider so responsive. Yes, I would use him again in the future and recommend him to others. He was timely and professional.

 + -1 moreI called Bob with a problem on my PaceMaster Pro-Plus HR, which was reading on the display, "Bad Relay." Bob had worked on a few PaceMaster machines, but had not run into that problem. He trouble shot it with me over the phone in a ten minute conversation (I woke him up at 7:30 a.m. - sorry Bob!) But, he was very gracious and took time with me to give me some avenues to go down that could potentially solve my problem, including giving me some competitor's names to go to for help. Great job!!
Description of Work: Bob trouble shot the problem with me over the phone. He was very nice and knowledgeable. Although this was not a machine that he regularly services, he was kind enough to troubleshoot it with me on the phone, spending several minutes to go over possible solutions as well as steering me in the direction of a few sources I could go to to get the job done. He could have just as easily come over and charged me to say he couldn't fix it, but he was very honest and helpful. I would recommend him in a minute! Call him!!
