This has been one of the worst experiences we’ve had with a company in terms of customer service. They were deceitful, essentially taking us on a $400 “fishing” expedition, recommending a product we didn’t really need and didn’t solve our issue, and charged us $250 to come out to solve a problem they didn’t actually fix. In total we’ve spent over $500 with them and they didn’t actually fix anything. We have requested someone call us back 5x since Sunday and still have not received a call. This is a scam. And to think, we purchased a membership from them. Obviously will not be renewing. What a horrible company - do not use them. Call a different company!!!

I recently had my A/C go out in the peak of summer, and had to call for service. Angel came out to investigate, and my outstanding experience with him on both this and previous calls inspired me to write this review. Although I’m an engineer now and haven’t been customer-facing for six years or so, I was a service technician and engineer in the IT industry for about 15 years and I’ve found that the technical diagnostic/assessment process is very much the same although the systems we may be working on are very different. And I have worked with a great many technicians from various industries over the years, as a coworker, a customer, and a manager. So when I say that Angel stands out *prominently* to me as one of the best technicians I have ever encountered in the customer service arena, I cannot emphasize enough that this is a *very* high bar. I do not generally take the time to write individual feedback for technicians, and I certainly have never written feedback this glowing (or this lengthy) before. But Angel has been out to service my furnace multiple times now, and he has *always* impressed me with his friendliness, his compassion, his diligence, and his happiness to share knowledge. I have *never* seen another technician who shows more profoundly that he truly cares about his customers. I hope Blue Ox realizes what a priceless gem and a truly rare asset they have in Angel. Having managed techs before, this is the kind of employee you hold onto for dear life and invest in cultivating. They should be very proud to have him on their team: I know I certainly would. Angel has made me a loyal and enthusiastic Blue Ox customer, and I will never hesitate to recommend Blue Ox to anyone in need of their services any time I hear about it as a result.

The A/C unit that I had installed about a year ago had been acting like a car trying to start with a low battery. It would try, stop, try, stop, before finally kicking into gear and doing its job to cool the house. I called Blue Ox, and they came straight out to take a look. I was only charged for parts. After the technician finished, the A/C unit started up just fine, every time. The Blue Ox team is very responsive, and I would certainly recommend them to others.

My furnace blower motor went out. I called Blue Ox and they came out within a couple of days to replace the furnace and A/C unit. They were punctual and arrived during the time window. They took the time to ensure that the equipment they installed would produce the correct volume of air for my home. Afterwards, I was presented with several options, and then they promptly installed a new furnace, A/C unit, and smart thermostat. The new equipment is certainly an improvement over the units I had replaced.

When I called to discuss this with customer service at Blue Ox the person on the phone was EXTREMELY rude and yelling at me, her customer. I had asked at the beginning of the conversation if I could be transferred to their head of customer service or customer relations, however she refused to transfer me to that number or tell me who I could speak to.

Our furnace went out on one of the coldest night of the year to date. When my husband and I could not figure out how to fix it we started calling for HVAC service to come out and assist. We got a hold of Blue Ox customer service and was given the run around as to when someone could come out which would probably be the next day. In order to keep heat in the house we started the fireplace and had 7 space heaters situated around the house as we were not sure when we could get a service person to our house. We did call other companies and waited for the first company to come out. Blue Ox called the middle of the next day, and were at our house within 15 minutes. The service guy and my husband went down to the furnace, he removed the panel and hit the reset button. He told us we need the draft inductor motor replaced and the problem would keep occurring until we had the motor replaced. He said he needed to order the motor right away so we could quickly get it fixed. My husband stated that he needed to discuss with his wife and we would get back to him rather than sign on the dotted line right away Cost for less than 20 minutes of work - $275.00. $59.00 for the service fee and the rest for furnace diagnostics. So hitting a reset button and visual diagnoses was over $200.00??? The quote for the draft inductor motor replacement $890.00. Good thing I have a smart husband who let's his wife do what she does best and that is to get competitive opinions. After my internet search and determining that no one who has paid more than $400.00 for the replacement of the draft inductor motor and seeing that blue ox had "free service fee" coupon on the site that was never offered up to us...I knew we were being taken advantage of because it is winter and we need our furnaces to work in the winter! Bottom line is that we will never call Blue Ox again for service and had the draft inductor motor replaced for a total of $350.00.... which was totally in line with my internet search. Do your homework and get competitive bids. I can not recommend this company who doesn't look at customer retention and present at will coupons on their website to save customers money. Nope they are out to make as much money as they can on vulnerable people who need their service in the cold winter months. Not my idea of a company I want to hire again.

There were errors on the installation. They fixed them in a timely manner, and we had to have them back out a couple of different times for different issues, but it felt like they dropped the ball on the installation.

The estimate and "sales pitch" was low pressure and informative.  Matt explained the size of the unit we needed and why.  Then he gave us good, better and best options for the home.  The estimate was "all inclusive" which meant the foundation, unit delivery and installation.  The next morning the unit was installed exactly as planned.

We had Blue Ox come out to fix the air conditioner (central) last summer because it stopped working and I didn't know.  They came out, did a good job, and we paid $250 for the service.  As part of that service, I signed up for some monthly maintenance plan because it made the air conditioner 10% cheaper in exchange for some monthly fee.  As part of that monthly fee, we got a "free" inspection of the heating system that seemed like a good idea for our first winter in a new house, so we had them come out (after forgetting and procrastinating for awhile) in early January.  Turns out the heating exchange thing was cracked and we needed a new furnace.  After getting a second opinion to confirm that this was actually case (it was) we ended up going with Airtech (who was quite a bit cheaper for a better new furnace) but we were pleased with the work they did for us on the air conditioning.
