Very well, It was done well and timely.

Quality workmanship. The fence is beautiful. Had to wait a little over a week after the posts were in. When they came on Friday to do the fence they finished the upright boards and stayed to make sure all the gaps that had to be trimmed to fit were in so we would have privacy that evening. They came back on Saturday and finished the job. I was originally quoted for a 4 foot picket fence but Jesse made it 4 1/2 foot and put rails on it to match the 6 foot fence at no extra cost.

Blackbear was asked to provide an estimate for the repair of a 6 foot high wood fence which enclosed a large yard.
Nobody appeared on the arranged first date. After contacting them again, they showed up late on the revised date. It was
obvious from his attitude and remarks that he wanted to tear down the fence and erect a new fence rather than do a repair.However he said that he would provide a repair estimate in about 4 or 5 days. He never did.

The whole process went very well. They are not here first thing in the morning but when they arrived mid-morning they stay until dark to get as much work out of the day as possible.
Jesse has been a delight to work with as he is personable and knows what he is doing. It was a great experience.
I would absolutely use Blackbear Fencing again or recommend to future fencing needs for friends or family.

I was very satisfied. They were very prompt and got the job done quickly. I actually referred someone else to them. They also did a good job of cleaning up afterwards.

To start with I would give Blackbear fence the highest possible rating for service and quality of work.
We got a quick and accurate estimate. The owner came out and walked us through all of the options and the various fence styles we had to choose from. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the process including matching it up to existing gates and fences on neighbors' properties.
The crew arrived right on time and quickly demolished and removed the existing fence and then dug and cemented in the new posts. After a day or two for the cement to setup they came back and finished the bulk of the fence in one day finishing the gates and trim the next. They took special care to keep us informed at all times as to the project and were always friendly and approachable during the process.
The new fence looks great and is a real improvement to our property. We are very happy and would recommend them to anyone and would gladly use them again on other projects.

My dog discovered that he could jump the existing four foot chain link fence. I got quotes from several companies to extend my fence to 6 feet. Jesse came to my house, understood the situation and quoted me a new fence vs. just and quot;extendingand quot; the existing fence. His quote was below all others.In addition, Jesse cut down trees that were in the way and hauled away an old metal shed.
My only complaint is that it took many days to finish the job. But I would definitely use Blackbear again.

I called at 8:45am and asked if he could come and plow snow at our home in Minneapolis the same day. He was friendly on the phone and came out and finished the work within a couple of hours. We have a large corner lot with about twice as much sidewalk as the typical Mpls home. He also plowed out our driveway which had large snowbanks encroaching on either side. He did a great job. I'd hire him again.

I was out of town when Minneapolis got dumped on with about 8" of snow, and I wouldn't be returning for another 5 days. I called Jesse from California to see if he could help me. (Previously, I had received a bid from his company for a fence installation, and at that time I also asked about snow removal.) Another company I checked with before I left only did snow removal by contract for the entire season, and would not do it on a one-time (or as-needed) basis. Even though he'd been up all night plowing others out, Jesse agreed to do my walkways/driveway later that day. It was a huge relief, as the city can fine you for not clearing within 24 hrs. of a snowfall (and uncleared walkways would indicate that no one was at home -- not good). A friend of mine who must often drive by my property assured me my walks were cleared, and upon returning home, I was delighted at what a great job Jesse did.

I got quotes from 4 companies that offerred special fence services that I was interested in. Two companies were large and two were small. One large company didn't quote me what I asked for, one small company gave a very unprofessional rambling quote, Blackbear fence gave a concise professional quote, and the last quote I got was from the second large company that was $2k higher than Blackbear fence. That company tried to scare me about using a small company for this work, but I did some research, got some references, and decided to meet with them. Jesse and his wife showed up on their one day off to see the property and go over the contract. They were very friendly and professional. They came prepared with a catalog of photos from previous jobs to give an idea of various fence options. They had no problems with any of my requirements (I'm very particular about some things and I expect to get what I specify). The work was scheduled fast and completed in a timely manner given Memorial Day weekend and weather. They did not leave a mess and the fence looks great. It's much better than the old fence and I can tell it was built properly with the best materials and craftsmanship. I'm very satisfied and my friends have already asked for the companies number for their work. Don't let the big companies scare you away from Blackbear Fence. It's a small company, but you can't beat the price and I don't see how you could beat the quality. They are professional, friendly, responsive, and they obviously know how to build a fence right.
