Not only was Kevin's quality poor, Kevin was a difficult person to deal with due to his unprofessional attitude.
He tried to over-charge us on the job, he was not skilled in estimating the tile needed for the job, as he continuously broke tiles and eventually used tiles that were not the same dye lot because of his mistakes.
We had many, many discussions and emails with our main contractor, Jeffrey Grosscup, about Kevin Asher's lack of quality, and his lack of keeping to a schedule. Not only did Kevin come over to scope out the job prior to his actually needing to be on the job, he at no time indicated that he was concerned about us wanting to go with subway tile when he asked us what we were going to have installed. Then, he later tried to over charge us because of the difficulty and claiming he didn't know about this. He blatently lied about this situation, and Jeffrey Grosscup made allowances so that we were not over charged. I was appauled it got to that level. I basically had to make Kevin leave our residence at the end because he was taking way too long, was complaining the entire time, was putting my family through crap that we frankly shouldn't have had to deal with and while we discussed this with Jeffrey Grosscup, at that point, Jeffrey was no longer coming out to supervise on the job site; I can only imagine he was sick of the whole mess and wanted it over.
So, after 40 months of dealing with the crappy tile job, we have contractors over fixing Kevin Asher's mistakes. He made many of them, so many that all of the grout he used was incorrect; the sealing was inadequate as was the caulking. Since then it appears Jeffrey Grosscup has gone out of business - - don't make the same mistakes we made with having Kevin Asher as your tiler. He was a difficult personality to have to deal with, he didn't estimate materials or obtain them properly, he took much longer and did not admit he couldn't do the job but put out poor quality and then tried to charge us for his extra time because he was not skilled enough to do the job despite being informed by us directly what we wanted installed.

I typed in a long description the first time, but when I hit the "Continue" button, it was all lost. Lousy website!

Kevin was very prompt, professional and returned calls promptly. He has had many years experience and was very knowledgeable about the materials to use. He is a very friendly, hard working family man. Just the kind of workman you hope you will get when you hire someone you don't know to come into your home.

Fantastic! He came when he said he would and exhibited a high level of professionalism and the quality of workmanship does circles around the other bathrooms in our high-end home which we remodeled completely 2 years ago. He is very methodical and conscientious. It is reflected in the pride he takes in doing a great job at a fair price.

KEVIN OFTEN DID NOW SHOW UP WHEN HE SAID HE WAS COMING. HE PUT OUR JOB AS LAST PRIORITY. HE DUMPED CEMENT ON OUR GRASS REPEATEDLY EVEN WHEN WE ASKED HIM TO STOP. KEVIN WAS OFFENDED WHEN WE WENT OUT OF TOWN AND DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE GIVING HIM A KEY TO WORK ON OUR HOUSE WHILE WE WERE AWAY. OVERALL A PAIN TO DEAL WITH ALTHOUGH QUALITY OF WORK WAS GOOD (NOT EXCELLENT).
