We were very happy with them.  It was a very quick service. We liked how quickly he was able to come. There was a bit of a mix up with him trying to call us and not realizing there was a call on the other line. He was very pleasant when he came.  I have no basis of comparison so I think it was reasonable. It works.  I wasn't here but my husband seemed impressed.

He is timely and really knows his stuff. He works quickly and does what he says he's going to do. He will give you good advice on whether to get a repair or buy a new appliance.

I was unable to get to the house in time to repair my dishwasher so the person at the house called Larry.  It shoud have been a $150 part and 5 minutes of work.  Instead Larry talked the person at the house into throwing the dishwasher away and buying a new replacement.  He said that with the control panel dying and the possibility that another thing might go it made more sense to purchase a new washer.  In fairness to Larry the hinges were making a squeaking noise.  After Larry left I ordered a new control panel and replaced it.  I also pulled the dishwaser out of the wall and replaced the spring assembly.  The whole job took about an hour if you do not include the parts ordering.  I suspect that Larry make more money driving from appointment to appointment and pronouncing he appliances dead than he does doing repairs.  Larry added nothing to the mix.  The $69 it took to get larry to the door was money that was wasted.

Larry was great: fast, thorough, professional.  Our refrigerator is especially repair-prone and so this is the 4th time we've called Larry (each time for a different problem).  Each time we have appreciated how quick and reasonably-priced his service is.

I called Appliance Express after being stood up by one service provider and ruling out another who could not give a ball park estimate for repair of my washing machine that wouldn't empty.  I am so glad I did.  Larry called back promptly, offered to come that same evening, but accommodated my need for an appointment the following day. He showed up on time ($70 fee) and figured out the problem.  Unfortunately, he did not stock the part on his truck (Kenmore Calypso pump and motor combination.)  I was heading out of town, meaning I wouldn't have my washing machine until the following week and would need to use a laundromat before my trip. Larry left my house with the understanding I would call him when I returned, and he said I could wait until the work was completed to pay him the fee for the estimate.  About a half an hour later, he called to say he had located the part, would drive to Burnsville to pick it up and come back to make the repair if I wanted him to.  Within two hours I had a fully functioning washing machine. His senior discount reduced the price by almost $40, making the decision to repair rather than replace the machine more palatable.  Larry asked if I had any more questions, so I asked him about a dehumidifier issue.  I had been told by Sears that I would need to bring the heavy, bulky appliance into the store, so I was delighted when Larry quickly analyzed the problem at no additional charge.  Later that evening he called back to suggest how I might check my dehumidifier instruction booklet for more specific part information to order directly from the Canadian company.  In addition, he gave some advice about how to use my dishwasher more efficiently.  I found him extremely helpful.  Extrapolating the hourly rate of the other repair people, I feel I got a bargain from Appliance Express, and I couldn't ask for anyone more helpful.

Good. He fixed the fridge on the first visit but then we noticed a small leak so he is working on fixing that. I appreciate that he has kept the job "open" to get it right. Nice guy!

As mentioned, I was able to reach Larry at the phone number on his card from two years ago. He arrived when expected, though he did not make a 'heads up' call as he missed a digit in my phone number. His diagnosis suggested two possible part failures - a 90% probable one and a 10% probable one. He gave me an estimate for the more probable cause, noting that if it proved to be the other, the part would cost less. After I accepted the estimate, he went out to his van for the part, which proved to be the same part as the factory original, not a cheap 'equivalent' part. The part was installed and the dryer reassembled in a few minutes, after which Larry started it up and tested it for full functionality. We chatted a bit more while he prepared his invoice, and he provided some suggestions on how best to insure a long life for our large appliances. While he was working, Larry mentioned that he had just returned for a six month visit to the Philippines - a trip that had extended longer than planned. I mention this as another member reported they could not get in touch with Appliance Express a few months ago.

Recently, our Maytag clothes dryer failed to heat up. I called the place where we purchased it, only to find they no longer sold nor serviced the Maytag line. They gave me a referral to the local Maytag Service Center, which was closed by the time I called. I decided to check them out on Angie's list and the Better Business Bureau... and did not like what I found. I searched Angie's List for an alternative, and found Appliance Express. The next morning I called and happily found that Larry McClure could come by early that same afternoon. Larry called when he headed for my home, giving me his "GPS estimated time of arrival". Larry arrived precisely on time, took a few minutes to listen to my description of the problem, and then gave the dryer a try... and, of course, it fired right up! Noting that it is a bit harder to figure out the problem when it is working, he walked through his logic for identifying the probable fault. He gave me an estimate to correct same, which I approved. He had the requisite part in his truck, and the whole process (disassembly, part exchange, reassembly) was done very quickly, and all seemed right with the dryer, but Larry did say to call him right away if the problem had not been fixed. Unfortunately, that evening the dryer once again failed to heat up. This time, based on my conversations with Larry, I did a little more rigorous data collection, listening to the various sounds the dryer made and timing the sequences. The next morning I called Appliance Express and left a message with my findings, and Larry quickly called me back to arrange another visit. Again, Larry called when about 15 minutes away. When he arrived he noted that the better data on the failure characteristics caused him to revise his understanding of the problem, and in less than 5 minutes he replaced two small solenoid coils that controlled the gas valve at no additional cost to me and was on his way. Ever since, the dryer has functioned perfectly.
