ALTO SEWER

I only have the one bathroom, and it was afternoon on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I tried calling I think it was 18 plumbers from Angie's list, and only Alto and one other either answered or got back to me, and the other one couldn't come until the next day. I think the Alto plumber was here in about an hour from when I called. I was so grateful! He also took a look at my kitchen garbage disposal while he was here, which I suspected had gotten something down it, like silverware. He checked carefully and said there wasn't anything there, but it's dying, and I'll likely need to either just remove it or replace it soon. He didn't charge anything for this.

They were fabulous. I will recommend them. They were honest, came fast and did a good work. They were great.

He went through the lines and cleaned it out the best he could. He was pleasant, took his time, thorough, willing to answer questions. And he went the extra mile.

Great. I just recommend they get those special shoe covers that other places have.

They are extremely clean. Every time they have been out here things have been left clean when they are finished. They are very timely and their price has always been good.

Helpful hint: Don't put carrot peelings down the garbage disposal. I was very pleased with the response time and how kind they were with my simple problem. I would definately call them again if I had an issue.

Our main drain to the house started backing up, so we hired Rotor Rooter and after spending $520 they couldn't clear the drain and told us we probably had a broken drain pipe (after a guy with a camera couldn't see anything from the house drain side) which they could fix for $4900. Then we called in Alto who managed to get the drain barely open for $210 and they also told us that the drain was probably collapsed. We called in Cichy to provide a quote for drain removal and replacement. The guy from Cichy also stuck his camera in the drain from the house side and again was not able to see anything because there was water backing up into the drain. Cichy gave us a quote of $2900 for replacing the pipe which is a really good deal considering all the work involved. Fortunately for us, we gave one more company a try, Cardinal Services who stuck their camera into the drain from the sewer side and saw the giant root ball blocking the drain. Cardinal Services had the tools required to remove the root ball, unlike Rotor Rooter or Alto. My wife gave me a hard time for hiring Cardinal Services before they came ('What?! Another plumber!?'), but they saved us thousands of dollars and my driveway from getting all ripped up by looking at the drain from the sewer side (14 feet down from the manhole) and having the proper tools for removing tree roots.

Alto could have done a better job by at least attempting to remove the tree roots with the appropriate tool, assuming they have one. I am disappointed they didn't make an attempt to remove tree roots. At the end of the day we spent $210 for a few days of being able to flush the toilet until Cardinal Services actually figured out and fixed the problem. I wish I had called Cardinal Services first.

They have good technicians. real above average people to deal with.

They don't know what they are doing. They cleaned the wrong line twice! They were cleaning the check line. They left their equipment in the pipe. They came out three times before they figured out that the sewer line was broken.
