ALEXANDER'S IMPORT AUTO REPAIR

I dropped the car off in the morning and returned home to await the bad news. When they called with the results of the analysis and quoted the cost to fix the problems I was pleasantly surprised. They explained that since I was having one fuel injector replace, I might want to have the others done also. Part of the cost is getting access to the injectors so doing the additional injectors would not cost as much as the first one. I decided to just have the one done for now. I asked when the car would be ready for pickup and they said either later that same day or the next day, depending on how long it took to get the parts in. Told them I really needed to be at work the next day and they said if the car wasn't ready they could provide a loaner. Turns out the car was finished that day and when I picked it up it ran fantastic. I would definitely do business with them again.

Service was professional. Work was done appropriately. Straightforward explanations. Reasonable price. I will return for future auto care needs.

I have gone twice and so far and they have given me a loaner car. All they ask for is that you fill the car up with gas at the end of the service. They give very good service. I'm going to keep using them.

smooth dropoff ...they saved us a lot of money by recommending that we postpone some parts of the five year swrvice (based on an examination of the car). Car ready exactly when they said it would be.

Alexanders is not convienient to get to (not even close to where I live, and somewaht close to work - DT Mpls), the car loaner was a must. Based on the feedback on Angies list, I decided to work through the inconvenience. Replacement of O2 sensor on 2005 Lexus LS 430 was less than half the price of dealership quote. Retreived trouble code myself, so they had the correct part on hand when serviced. They called prior to service in offering OEM part or Bosch equivalent. Car loaner provided was great and was truley needed, as I had to take someone to the hospital that day. Overall experience - excellent.

My air conditioning went out on our Mazda. I took it in to Alexanders for an estimate, after scheduling an appointment. They correctly diagnosed the issue as a condenser plugged with bugs/debris which caused overheating and recommended a replacement condenser at a cost of $450. I did a little internet search and found air conditioner condenser foaming cleaner at Home Depot for $5. I used this product and added a can of refrigerant and it works fine again. It was worth $68 for the diagnosis. I'm not sure if any shop would take the time to do what I did, but I did save a bundle.

During the repair, there was a screw that was broken by one of the technicins that the shop replaced and paid for.My car was supposed to be repaired in a day, but it took 3, due to the broken screw that had to be ordered. I was also given a free loaner car for 3 days. I wll return for more service in the future.

I think they’re competent mechanics. I don’t seem them make many mistakes. They do a great job overall. I’m not sure they’re trying to save me money, but I’ll continue to use them.

Great for SMART cars. I took my car in to have them look at a tire. It had a nail, they removed, repaired the tire, and charged me $12. They are always professional and friendly. I also thought my brakes were bad (squeeking, lots of black dust on rims). They took a look and explained that Mercedes brakes perform in this manner and that my brakes are still good. No charge for service. While waiting for my car, I watched them interact with other customers. They seemed to know most customers on a first-name basis. Everyone appears to leave happy. GREAT customer service. I highly recommend for imports.

Awesome! Location is perfect. William is excellent. He is very kind, polite, patient and understanding. I called and got an estimate based on potential costs on things I thought may be or are wrong with the Jetta. I scheduled a time/date to drop off the car. Due to a family emergency we were unable to make it and we rescheduled. Then, we dropped it off on a certain morning, re-confirmed what they were going to do to the car, and informed them that I was going to use the $10 coupon from Angie's List. They called me in the afternoon to inform me about the results of their diagnosis, cost, timeline, and approval. William walked with me over the details of the cost. I was uncomfortable with some of the costs and did some comparison shopping. William was willing to honor the dealer price for the spark plugs, which saved us $56! They had the car ready by the late afternoon the next day. I paid over the phone and picked up the car that evening. I forgot to submit the $10 coupon but they agree to provide me a $20 discount on my next visit! Awesome!

They have pretty good service. The people are very friendly. I was able to save on service compaired to other service companies.

My 1997 Honda Accord started making some loud noises that everyone was telling me were the ... oh, I forget, but the something or other. (Not a car person, obviously.) I did some research online and, from the noise I was hearing, that definitely seemed like it was the problem. Everyone estimated somewhere between $400-$500 at the very least. Well! I found Alexander's on Angie's List and took my old Honda there. In one day, they found the problem and fixed it - parts and labor - for $145. It's now about a month and a half later and my car is running great. Love it! JS

My first time at Alexander's. I was very impressed by their professionalism & they are easy to work with. They provided a cost estimate over-the-phone and scheduled a service date & time. Following delivery to the shop, they called to explain required services & comfirm cost. Upon authorization, they completed the work promptly and called to advise me that car was ready for pickup. They diagnosed the oil leak to be a simple, inexpensive, fix to my relief. They could have taken a different route which speaks very highly of their honesty. It's been a few weeks now since completion of the work and my car has never run better. Good job guys!!! This will be my repair shop in the future.

It was a very good experience overall. Friendly people, free loaner car, and most importantly quality work at a reasonable price. I appreciated the follow-up call 2 weeks later - just enough time to make sure everything was fine. I will definitely use this company again, and recommend them to my friends.

Very happy with Alexander's. This was my first trip away from the dealer and the entire process was completed with professionalism and friendliness. I was actually out of the country while communicating with Ben about what I knew needed service and what they discovered on the inspection. Ben was prompt, courteous, and accurate with his suggestions and helped determine what was really a priority to service and why. I'll definitely return.

A red squirrel decided to build a nest under the hood of my Toyota RAV4 and, in the process, chewed through the engine wiring harness in several places. Instead of suggesting a replacement of the entire harness ($800 + labor), Alexander's suggested that they might be able to splice the harness. Total cost: $200. This is an example of why I'm willing to drive 25 miles from home to have Alexander's work on my cars.

Very well... they fit me into their schedule with very little notice from me... gave me a loaner car which saved me quite a bit of money, and were thorough in explaining what they were doing.

After describing what I needed (timing belt and oil change), they were very prompt in getting back to me with a very reasonable estimate, and got me scheduled only 2 days later. They called me during the job, suggesting that other parts be replaced, as access to them was convenient at this time, and replacement was needed. The additional cost ($200) made it a no-brainer. Later that day they called to explain that they wouldn't be able to complete the job by the end of the day, due to the complexity of the assembly process for my vehicle. But they offered to arrange for a loaner (wasn't necessary - their shop is on the train line). Overall a great experience. They called me back a week later to check on things. Excellent service and very professional.

Alexander's is a small non-descriptive shop. Wes is their head service guy and he is extremely knowledgeable. There is never any pressure to get the work done. I had bought my car used and I wanted to make sure I knew if there were any problems I was not aware of. Alexander's seems very credible. I've taken my wife's car their for service as well.

I wanted to find an auto mechanic I could trust. The references for Alexander's were outstanding.
