I recently completed an attic/master suite remodel with AJN Building & Remodeling. I had seen them at a local remodeling fair for a couple of years; first impression they seemed down to earth, reasonable & fair. So they and 4 other contractors- made the cut to interview for the job. The quote they gave was very competitive but what I liked about Aaron & John- they got “my vision”. All the others wanted to hire a design person to layout the project- this goes here and that goes there. That’s their vision- I’m the one living there. Not to mention that design person also costs an additional 10-15% on top of your bill. Trust me I can be my own (Joanna Gaines) I know where I want the toilet to go. They also brought things to my attention and offered solutions and not just problems. Which actually there were very few problems. What can I say about their craftsmen ship- in a word “excellent” – I have pretty high standards and Aaron wasn’t totally satisfied with the paint job. I thought it was fine- they made the painter come back and re-paint. And I challenge anybody to do a better job on tiling than John- “simply the best”- they attention to detail that man has (the bathroom turned out amazing). So gone is the dated knotty pine, the room temperature is actually comfortable & correct (and not 110 degrees) and the space has been transformed into urban master suite loft (that even Joanna Gaines- would approve of). Thanks to everyone at AJN Building & Remodeling- the end result was even better than I envisioned.

They were very good at doing the work and at getting things done as long as everything was clear cut.  Overall, they were very pleasant to work with.  We had five other estimates and AJN's was at the lower end price-wise.  When we had issues with plumbing, they were good at getting the plumber out here quickly.  We went with them as they were good at offering suggestions and options.

We were extremely happy with him. He generally contracted what we had done, he had other people come in and do drywall for us and a spar ceiling. He himself got our tile, he did some wood working, installed all our doors and everything. I really like how he communicate with us, he was extremely good like saying, "I said I would be there at 9:00. I'm calling to say it's going to be 9:15", that kind of thing. He's very good at matching stains and things like that, he worked for a company that did higher renovations and so he was used to having to match up with what people had existing. He was able to match very well from the cabinets we have and stuff so we were really happy to have that. He made a mantel for our fireplace that they are able to match what we had down there and things that did the finishing touches for us.

We had worked with AJB construction one other time and were very happy. However, this was a much larger project. We were not happy with the way that AJB Construction handled this large of a project. Each time there was an issue, AJB found a way to pass blame to us. When we tried to negotiate with AJB to find reasonable solutions to issues with our satisfaction, they were unwilling to consider that their work substandard and that they did "exactly" what we asked and contracted. We were very disappointed with the overall work and attitidue of AJB.
