My first criteria for choosing any supplier is attitude and courtesy. Without both, I'm merely going elsewhere. Airtech consistently demonstrated both characteristics, over several years. For that reason, I chose them to supply new HVAC. Dave M checked the twelve-year-old system and found repairs necessary. He suggested new instead of repair. He is easy to work with and made several suggestions without any type of sales pressure. I felt good at dealing with him. I signed an agreement with AirTech to supply both new AC and furnace. At the time of the agreement signing, a date was set for installation. The installation was scheduled for Thursday, May 24th. I was told one day would be enough time, but I felt better about allowing the second day just in case. On the day of installation, Andreas showed up around 9:30 AM. Even though the job wasn't complete, he left around 4:30 PM, with the assurance that he would show up the next day to finish the job. He promised to show up some were around 8:30 AM. The next day I waited most of the morning and tried several times to get an answer as to why is no one was here? Not until noon on that day was I told no one would show up until Tuesday, May 29th. It's a holiday weekend. And to make matters worse the entire weekend set heat temperature records. In fact on Monday, May 28th the weather hit a Memorial Day all-time record of 100degrees. The only reason for me to continue with AirTech is David H the service tech. He showed up on Tuesday and said,"I'm here until the job is done."He needed three parts carrier deliveries. He seemed never to take a break. He worked all day solo and non -stop. By 6:35 PM the HVAC was fully operational. Cooling took all night, but indeed, as David promised it was fully functional. Thank you David H. And a thank you to Miki Stone who also was very understanding. And a thank you to the call center who took the brunt of my rants. In spite of how the installation was handled or mishandled I'm ultimately o.k. With the outcome. Ronald Kausak

Great. They answered our questions, put in the water heater, were on time and fast.

All three were done at different times. All went good. They were professional and answered all my questions.

I got them through Angie's List. I didn't do any comparative shopping on the price. I have had them service my heating and air conditioner for a long time.

It has been a good experience. I've been pretty happy with them. They provide very good service, fast, very professional. It was nice and fair and they didn't charge me a penny. They did not charge anything for the service. It was warranty. If they came out and did serve and they only charged me $10.00, there is no way I would give them B for price. That would be like A incredible. No one comes out and does anything for $10.00.

First off, I'd like to praise Airtech on their punctuality and responsiveness. They were easy to get a hold of and were on time. Everyone I interacted with, from the phones to the techs were extremely polite and professional. I had three estimates, and that's how they earned my business in the first place.
I ultimately had three issues I've outlined below, starting with the biggest. Because of these issues, I had to rate quality very low, and ultimately, I couldn't put the overall rating higher than the quality rating. Given the large selection of HVAC services in the Twin Cities, I will not be using their services, or recommending them to others.
Unit 2 Inspection Failure:
This was the big one. Part of the attic install was to include a disaster pan for the entire system to sit on in case of water leakage. This would prevent water damage to the ceiling, walls, and insulation that would be difficult to discover without frequent inspection. The city inspector discovered that the pump in the attic was installed outside of the disaster pan and just sat directly on the attic insulation. Had the pump failed, it would have leaked directly into the insulation. A tech had to be called to change the pan for the proper installation. Not only did this cause me to be at home for another appointment, but it broke my confidence in the rest of the the installation.
Unit 1 Short:
The lower unit was unoccupied during the month of the install, so I had the system off afterwards. I went to turn the system on a week later to prepare for a showing and it wouldn't come on. After basic troubleshooting, I called and scheduled an appointment and the tech discovered that there was a short in the lower unit install. Bypassing the thermostat and turning it on directly blew the transformer in the furnace and it had to be replaced. It surprises me that a short wasn't discovered on a new install because it would have required it to happen after the system was charged, fully tested, and turned off when they left. Either way, I understand stuff happens. I was happy with their responsiveness, but pretty disappointed by the need for that level of troubleshooting on a new install.
The Financing Pitch:
Airtech offers financing through GreenSky lending, and the financing offer is a decent one. During the pitch however, it was explained to me as 0% interest for the first 12mo, then a high 17.99% after. Even though I had the funds to pay outright, I chose financing for the 0% to lighten my burden. The loan is actually full interest with a 12mo promotional period where interest is deferred, and by paying the entire principle during the promotional period, the interest is forgiven. While this can effectively be 0% interest, it is definitely not, and I will be paying the loan of at least a month early to ensure I don't accidentally trigger the $1000+ interest I will have accumulated by then. The loan was set up over the phone through Airtech, so I didn't fully understand that until after I was mailed the GreenSky documentation. I definitely have a responsibility to vet these things personally, but it was unexpected and caused me a lot of confusion.

AirTech quickly diagnosed my issue and fixed it. Because the fix was quick, the technician spent the next hour going over my entire A/C and making sure everything was operational. Professionally taped and re-attached all hoods and covers - left the system inside and outside looking nicer than when he came. Identified a few likely issues and gave no-pressure quotes, in the end helped me decide that no further repairs were needed right away.

They were efficient, got everything in and out without much ado. No mess whatsoever. Answered all of my questions, explained how things worked, Told me what to do for upkeep of the systems.
I recommend these guys to anyone.
