Thank you for the feedback. I understand you feel this is expensive, we will encourage our electricians to elaborate on the value being provided to bring clarity to our pricing and how the work they have done insures a safe home electrical system for you and your family. However, we did offer to give you $100 back along with the tip you left our electrician which you turned down. You did agree verbally to our emergency rate of a $350 before we came out and signed for this amount as well before the work was started. Again, we are sorry we did not meet your expectations.Service Provider Response

I went to this customer's house for two things; one of those things was for an arc fault circuit breaker that was tripped and the other wires in her yard. Before we did anything she asked if I could hang a light fixture, I replied with "Yes absolutely, but if I hang a new light fixture I will have to arc fault the circuit at its first point of origin which is required by code on the national electrical code." I then explained it was easiest to arc fault in the panel versus using a device. Then I told her the cost of the breakers and she refused right away to have that done. Then she asked if I could hang a ceiling fan and I said sure I told her that it may require having to replace the box with a fan rated box and arc fault protection. Then she refused and then started complaining about how nobody told her any of this. I then told the customer the only places I'm allowed to work without arc fault installation are bathrooms, garages and exterior electrical work. When I got to the breaker it was not tripped, I gave this customer 2 options; I can open everything up that's involved with that breaker and look and there's no guarantee that I would even find anything, her other option was to replace the breaker which I told her the breaker price and how much it was and she refused. So I told this customer I could not find a problem, no problem was currently showing. I told the customer it was like chasing a ghost. Then she asked me to look at a GFCI in her bathroom I did plug my tester into it and tested the receptacle and it worked fine. There was nothing wrong with the GFCI. We went outside to look at some wires she said that were in her yard, she asked me if the wires were dangerous I told her no I said they were cable wires for her cable TV. She then showed me another wire and we found out that that wire was for an invisible fence. Then the customer asked me if I could remove a broken lightbulb in the socket on her exterior light for her back porch, which I replied 'certainly.' When I finished she then asked me to go into the garage and see if I can fix a light fixture in there for her and I said 'sure.' I went into the garage loft and I secured a mud ring on the box and added a screw to the light fixture that only had one screw in it and removed a broken bulb and put a new one in for her. Then we went outside to her front step exterior light, she said this light was not working. I then pulled the light down removed the lightbulb and found that she had screwed a new light bulb in and pack the socket full of dead bugs. I removed all the bugs cleared the socket screwed the light bulb back in and the light worked fine. I received a couple of text messages from the period that I arrived at this point but did not respond or talk to anybody. During the period I was there she kept asking if I was going to go over $225, at the end I was over my one hour limit and I could have charged her for one hour and a half because our invoice states clearly that we bill by the half hour, I did not, being as I am a nice guy I ate an extra 15 minutes of my own time and customer was only billed for $225. National electrical code 210.12 and or406.4 requires arc fault protection which means we would have to replace an existing with an arc fault breaker that could cost up to $75 for the breakerService Provider Response
