ACME TOOL

I brought it in on a Sunday. Matt called me on Monday, the mower's drive was failing. He could adjust it to buy me some time, then it's "time for a new mower". He said he would be at training the early part of the week. I called late in the week, and was told that he would not get to it until the following week. Just about 2 weeks go by. On Thursday, Matt calls to tell me it's ready. I went to pick it up. Matt explains that he has done the adjustment to the drive, but has also sharpened the blade, replaced the spark plug and air filter. I think the air filter was new late last fall. I sharpened the blade a week before. Lots of unrequested work was done, slowly. The drive adjustment did not help noticeably. I could have done the rest myself. I got suspicious of the contention that I would need a new mower soon. The engine runs great. Minimal searching tells me I can buy a replacement for about $65. Why was I told I would need a new mower? I'm not impressed.
