As a warranty repair it took a little longer than if I had paid for it myself, but A&C took care of everything, from filling out the paperwork to hounding the manufacturer to get them the parts they needed.

Was charged an unauthorized $45 fee for removing a bag that had been wrapped around a wheel (a project i was aware of and going to fix myself). I had taken the mower in for a snapped cable nothing else. BEWARE they will "find issues," perform the work, and demand payment without authorization of performing the work in the first place. And for $45 they cut off a bag that was on the wheel, a 5 minute diy project that had no bearing on the original reason the most was brought into the shop in the first place. A simple warranty covered issue was turned into a huge headache.

Dropped off an older Toro single stage snowblower that wouldn't start which was due to suspected bad gas.  I also brought along the electric starter I had removed because of the damaged gear that would no longer engage.  I was called about a ten days later with and estimate for the repairs which included a carb rebuild, spark plug replaced and a new gear for the starter.  I agreed to the estimate and picked up the snowblower a few days later.  I'm completely satisfied with the service provided and wouldn't hesitate to take any equipment there.

We took our lawnmower in for repair because it suddenly stopped working. We knew we would probably have to wait a couple of weeks for it to be fixed in the middle of the season, but we did get an accurate estimate of the wait time. The diagnosis was pretty accurate from our description of the symptoms. We haven't used it yet, but if there is a problem, we will update our review.

There great.  We call and explained what we needed looked at and they said drop off the powerwasher and snow blower.  The couldn't get the parts from the company to fix the powerwasher, but only charged us $30.00.  They are very busy most of the time so having something fixed might take a little more time if they don't have parts in stock.

Very diligent in addresses on going issue with the snow blower.  Too the time to trouble shoot and replicate the issue to try and fix.  Will always use them to tune and fix my small engine equipment.

They were great, very personable and helpful. Even stayed a little late to let me pick up the repaired snow blower. The repair was done much sooner than promised.

The customer service was amazing.  They picked up my equipment at my home, did the work, and went out of their way to drop off before the big snowstorm this week.  Did I say pick up and drop off?  Yes,  you don't have to worry about how to get it there.  The cost for this service is very fair.  From my initial call asking about the services they could provide, to dropping it off at the end, they were friendly and responsive.  The cost was reasonable.  I will definitely be using them again.

A & C repaired our lawn mower on the same day we brought it in - the Friday before the Memorial Day holiday weekend. We were so appreciative that they made room in their schedule as our lawn desperately needed its first mowing of the season. The cost was very reasonable and much less than I might have expected. They clearly explained what had caused the problem (actually a result of a previous "incorrect repair" by Sears' "technicians" to put it nicely) and how they had fixed it. I also really appreciated how they explained things to me in precise technical and mechanical terms and didn't feel the need to try to dumb it down because I was female. In that way I found I was treated with respect and thus have a high regard for the personnel at A&C. The location of the shop is a bit challenging to find as you have to enter from the back alley and it is somewhat of a "hole in the wall." But don't let the cluttered appearance give you concern; these guys really know their stuff (hey, I grew up on a farm where I watched my dad fix everything) and they have the long term, common sense experience that far surpasses the big name dealer repair center technicians. An honest, down-to-earth, small-town-like business in the heart of the city! P.S.It also looked like they probably had parts for just about any type of lawnmower, weedeater, or snowblower no matter how old.

I dropped my lawn mower off Saturday and it was ready 3 days later. Great service. There was a small problem when I picked it up and what always impresses me is when folks do well with problems that come up. The service was above and beyond and they fixed the problem on the spot. Problems happen it was people do about them that sets businesses apart.

Just brought it in yesterday and it is ready today.  Cost came in under estimate and got it back earlier than I expected.  Just great service from start to finish.  Couldn't ask for more.

My snow blower stopped, so I took it in around 9:30 AM and got a call at 4:30 PM saying I could pick it up. They replaced the fan belt that had broken, but noticed the oil was a bit low in the crankcase which they topped up. They also noticed that a height alignment skid was missing on one side of the machine which they replaced. I took it in only because of the fan belt issue, and their other repairs undoubtedly saved me from significant future expense. There was a sincere "Thank you" on the completion.

My snow blower failed to start for the first season in over a decade. I called A & C, spoke with a very friendly and helpful woman and brought the snow blower over to the shop. Even before they took it, they tried a few things to get it started, in case there was a simple solution or I was just stupid (my words, they were very nice). They said they would have it done in a week and it took just about that amount of time. The carburetor had gummed-up with bad gas, so they rebuilt it. That sounded about right to me because when I was trying to start it, I never smelled gas like you usually would. They checked over the whole machine and replaced the skids, which I remember looking at last year and thinking they were just about shot. All in all, a very good experience. They were very pleasant (some repair shops are very grouchy) and helpful; they were busy enough I didn't feel they were looking for things to fix just to pad the bill and they got my machine back to me when they said they would. I don't know how much it should have cost me because I've never had a snow blower serviced, but the price seemed reasonable for the service.

Meant to submit this several months back. At that time ready to cut the grass and here the starter rope broke on the mower. Found A&C on Angie's List, saw they were fairly close to my house, gave them a call. Was told it would take about a week to fix which was expected as plenty of lawn mowing going on back then. Brought mower in same day and dont even think I waited a week for repairs to be completed. Friendly service, very reasonable what they charged, would definitely use them again.

The used mower was a clunker. Worked once and died. I suppose that a piece of equipment that takes such a beating should not be repaired but replaced. I was kind of disappointed but I really like the small business and will continue to use them.

A&C was swamped with work but took me in and was able to turn around the repair in 1 day. I was amazed at the speed of service given the amount of work they had coming in.

Very polite and helpful. I thought I was going to have to pay for a tune-up to find out what was wrong, but instead the mechanic figured out what was wrong (spark plug), and indicated on his work-order ''no tune-up required.'' Saved me money! Also helped me by demonstrating proper usage for best results. Helped load and unload. Very timely with work.

IT TOOK THREE TRIES TO GET MY MOWER TO RUN PROPERLY. THEY WERE VERY GOOD ABOUT TRYING AGAIN, BUT I WISH IT HAD WORKED RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
