3 Bears Landscaping

I’m a single woman and 3 Bears STOPPED MOWING my yard in June last year - for NO REASON & WITHOUT NOTICE! We both signed a mowing contract for spring thru fall and they breached the contact! Based on my experience it seems that 3 Bears puts contracts in place to protect themselves, not the customer… I was also working with them on landscaping plans (I paid for this). My install date was pushed back 1.5 months and they never explained why. I eventually decided not to hire them for landscaping due to MAJOR ISSUES with 3 Bears timeliness, communication, and customer service. Their design also came back over budget. I asked them to revise it and the options they gave me were to postpone portions or do some of the work myself! After I politely communicated I was not hiring them for landscaping and explained why, the owner Brandon said we should “cut ties from mowing”. He even said I didn’t need to pay, which was odd…I didn’t owe them anything - they were the ones cancelling the contract with no notice!! Brandon then suggested a different landscaper and said “they work with smaller budgets”. Wow, pretty passive aggressive instead acting like a professional business owner! I began working with 3 Bears because they had decent reviews, however I had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Mowing got off to a rough start and after I didn’t hire them for landscaping, the owner breached our 2021 mowing contract without notice - they simply quit.

3 Bears is terrific. They really understand Minneapolis city lots and have the right equipment (small) for the job. We had water issues emerge this past year in our basement, and had minor regrading, trenching with rock fill on one side and a complete permeable paver/french drain installed on the other side. Our two sets of front steps were also removed/replaced with beautiful cut stone. The results are amazing and the envy of many of my neighbors. They listened and trouble shot all technical and designs specs, providing drawings and product selections. They stepped up on the stairs and provided an alternative when I couldn't source a concrete contractor late in the process. Their install crew was wonderful to deal with and utterly trustworthy. They did a final walk through and happily tweaked a few things my fussy/demanding eye caught. Hire these lovely people. Do it.

3 Bears Landscaping transformed our backyard, replacing our tired concrete walkways with permeable pavers, adding two patio areas, and sodding the lawn. Let’s be truthful, I am a picky homeowner, and I can honestly say that their attention to detail and work ethic met my expectations. At numerous times they went above and beyond what we expected; for example, meeting us at a stone yard to help pick out pavers, explaining the benefits and downfalls to each, or helping us lay a paved border around the deck we constructed. Brandon and Eric were always willing to listen to questions and responded immediately to any of our concerns. We are grateful for their energy, professionalism, care, and enthusiasm on our project and look forward to working with them in the future.

The work looks great. Scheduling was easy and prompt. Communication was fantastic with everyone I spoke with, and I appreciated their transparency in the quote and charges.

3 Bears was a great fit for us and our project! We needed things done as a phased approach in order to accommodate our irrigation system installation by another company. The 3 Bears office manager was in touch with me frequently to let me know when they were planning on coming to do the work. They were always on time and the crew was very friendly. It truly seemed as though everyone wanted our project to be successful. Brandon, the owner, is great to work with and his enthusiasm for his work is contagious. We also relied on Heather, the landscape designer, to help us choose our plants. She quickly picked up on what our taste was/wasn't and had plenty of ideas and thoughts to share. Overall, this project was a success from beginning to end.

Excellent job all around. Regraded,sloped and sod laid down. Crew knew exactly how to do this. Very satisfied with the results.

My duplex property had been abandoned by the previous owner who performed little maintenance, and I needed to fix some problems and comply with a city order to clean up the lot in order to complete my landlord license. I had a landscape design and I had tried working with several landscapers, but either their proposals were to high or they were unable to perform the necessary work or could not schedule or did schedule and were a no-show. 
Brandon was responsive to my needs, offered reasonable consultation and bids, and was able to schedule work during June, after contacting him in May. The 3 Bears crew are hard-working guys, and Brandon and the crew asked lots of questions during the project to ensure that everything met my expectations or to adjust the work or design to get the best fit. They have good equipment, put in some hours late and over the weekend to deal with weather delays, and they clean up after the job.
Best of all, I wanted to build a low retaining wall with historic granite cobblestones that would accent the character of my architecture. I found a source for the cobblestones and Brandon was willing to work with me on using those. Most landscapers would not be so flexible working with materials they didn't normally handle and didn't control. Brandon and the crew were flexible in performing the wall project working with my ideas. 
I was in pinch to get my property in order for the city and for my guests, which is for short-term rentals in a furnished apartment. I had given up on my original landscape designer, had tried working with several landscapers who could not do the work, and 3 Bears came through in a timely and affordable manner with great work!
