Ryan and Maggie Sewell are the owners of the company and the main point of contact for every client. We hired Ohana Home and Design to do a total bathroom remodel for us. We wanted something that would be more functional as we age, and yet be stylish. Ryan and Maggie were amazing to work with! They removed the bathtub and made a walk in shower that is completely handicapped accessible. The shower has a gorgeous feature wall made of pebbles that gives that "spa" feeling, and added details, like a towel warmer, that really makes us feel pampered. We were out of town during the entire remodel as we only have one bathroom. I was concerned about returning to a mess to clean up, but I was very pleasantly surprised! The apartment was immaculate and I didn't even have to dust! I was absolutely blown away with the final results! Plus Maggie even added personal touches, like fresh orchids in our Asian inspired spa bathroom! I can't recommend them highly enough! In fact, the bathroom was so amazing, that we've decided to remodel our kitchen, and of course, we wouldn't consider hiring anyone else but Ohana! Thank you, Ryan and Maggie for giving us the bathroom of our dreams!

We expanded our kitchen into the old dining room, approximately doubling the size. The work went smooth and completed on time. We received multiple bids and chose Ohana based on a combination of price and our belief that they could deliver our project on-time and budget. They really sweat the details up front so the work goes smoothly. Their estimate was 8 weeks and we were back in the kitchen a few days early. Finalizing the punch list added a few days, but based on other's experiences doing remodels, we were prepared for a 3 month effort. We did make a small number of changes once the project started, but Ohana was able to accommodate all of them without impacting the delivery date. In addition to finishing on-time the work was well done. All of the contractors were on-time and professional. They did a good job keeping the house clean. Maggie, Ryan and Kristen were easy to work with and kept us up to date on progress and issues as we went. They did a great job turning our vague ideas into the kitchen of our dreams.

Maggie, Ryan and team go above and beyond to make your remodeling experience go smoothly. They offer great ideas and input, but listen to your needs and ideas as well to come up with a wonderful outcome. The results are fantastic! The old kitchen was not only dated but the layout left a lot of wasted space. The new kitchen layout is much more functional with no wasted space. There are almost twice the number of cabinets without making the space feel crowded. I don't think it is possible to do such a large project with out a few hiccups but they were all promptly addressed by Ohana. All of the subs were professionals. We love the results.

What a GREAT company. Husband and wife (contractor and designer) provided professional guidance, installation, design, and handholding throughout a process that was minimally stressing. Absolutely problem free. Ohana works with several crews, so anytime there was a glitch or additional need, there was another subcontractor ready to step in immediately, resulting in NO delays from the mapped out schedule. Ryan runs a tight ship.
Ours was an emergency remodel, so we jumped in without much of an idea of what we wanted, and it turns out (lol) there are tons of decisions to be made. It was truly a pleasure to work with Maggie on each one in a bit by bit fashion. She is attentive and upbeat, and made it all relatively fun. We were first attracted by the cabinet supplier they work with--Showplace Cabinets; and indeed, these are first rate. Gorgeous wood, with all the high quality features of construction you could wish for. A pleasure to work with them as well. Likewise, we found all Ohana's subs were polite, tidy, and excellent. Six months later, I am still stunned to walk into this kitchen, and it is now a pleasure to work in. Thanks!

We felt that both Ryan and Maggie listened to us versus following some preconceived idea and they were very sensitive to our schedule, budget, and design goals. Our favorite parts of working with Ohana were their responsiveness, accommodation,
and design guidance. We really appreciated the ?extra mile? that both Ryan and Maggie traveled.

The quality of the work was excellent. The kitchen is beautiful and we have received many compliments. The project was completed on-time, so we were not without a kitchen for longer than expected. They were not the least expensive bid, but had very good references. One minor complaint is the designer was not very creative and did not always provide all of the possible options for the sink, accessories for the cabinets etc. We received everything we wanted, but had to be proactive and do our homework on options. Overall, very satisfied and would use them again.

Ryan was able to quickly understand what we wanted on the initial visit and clearly communicated their proposal on the 2nd visit. It was more money than we were hoping to spend but was within the range of other bids we received. We decided to move forward with Ohana because Ryan seemed very honest and engaged in our questions in contrast to other contractors where it was clear you were dealing with a salesman. We were able to save some money by doing the demo and painting ourselves.
The design process was great! Maggie struck the right balance between taking our input and offering their expert opinion. They were conscious to our desire to save money when possible, but ensured that we would be happy with the end result.
During construction phase we ran into a few bumps including hidden surprises behind walls/sofets, issues with the grout, flooring not matching sample, appliance issues, and plumbing delays. Ryan handled most of these issues quickly and to our satisfaction. Some of the issues did drag on longer than we would have liked and we have to question their choice in plumbing subcontractor.
Overall we feel that we got what we paid for and we absolutely love the finished product! We would recommend them to our friends and family with-out question.

It was excellent. They had a decorator to help us pick out paint and countertops, etc. Their suggestions were great. They were really good. If anything came up, we just called and they were here immediately to fix it. Everything was very detailed. They gave me a book and I could go online to check the schedule and see when the contractors were coming. Communication is excellent and they are very organized. I am really enjoying the project now that it's done.

Working with Ohana has been a fabulous experience! From the estimate through completion, they have provided excellent service. top quality work and fantastic responsiveness.
I had been getting quotes on my bathroom remodel for about a year some were really inexpensive some were crazy expensive. None of the previous quotes showed any imagination in how to work with my tiny space so I was reluctant to pull the trigger. When Ryan from Ohana came in to look at it, he suggested putting in a heated floor when I said I wanted to remove the radiator for more space. He cautioned me along the way and even made sure that I understood how the cost of adding the heated floor would affect my total. So I knew he wasn't just looking to bump up my budget. Because the bathroom is so tiny, it made sense. Maggie, the other half of Ohana was equally awesome. She came along when I chose fixtures and when I (of course) chose all top dollar items, she found budget friendly options that still fit my aesthetic. Ohana's designer, Jaime, is also fantastic. Both she and Maggie, took the time to understand my taste and have been able to provide suggestions to fit my style and my budget. What I think is also telling is that everyone who has come in to work on my bathroom, from tiling to electrical to plumbing has been incredibly personable and respectful of my house and my pets. I was very worried that someone would inadvertently let my cats out so on the info sheet for workers that Ohana placed in my foyer, it was typed in large old font that there were two cats and two dogs in the house and that workers should be careful not to let any animals out. I really appreciated that. In the end, my bathroom is absolutely gorgeous. Worth every penny!
Now that I'm onto kitchen renovation, I am going to work with Ohana on that project as well. I did get bids from other contractors to be sure but seeing how fantastic Ohana is to work with, even (slightly) lower bids were no competition. I know Ohana will not throw me any budget curveballs. They are straightforward, honest and do top quality work. You won't find a better contractor in the Twin Cities.

The project was well conceived and subsequently amended with the addition of water damage (sump pump failure) to the lower level. The input provided by Ohana's Design Team was a great complement to the overall satisfaction of the project. Issues encountered were promptly communicated and resolved with dispatch. We are very satisfied with the outcome and wouldn't hesitate to engage Ohana again.

The consolation was helpful and the designs gave us good ideas on how to arrange the layout. We did not use them for the remodeling; we used another contractor whom we had used before.

We've used Ohana in the past to install a new deck. They were amazing then, and amazing now. Maggie and Ryan seem like family to us, and I think it's because they make you feel as important as a family member. They truly care about their customers. From start to finish the kitchen remodel went extremely well, and we never lost a minutes sleep with worry. Above and beyond our expectations. They made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable during that time and responded to all questions, any request, issues, everything quickly and professionally. I can honestly say if we need any further construction needs, I will not contact anyone else. We HIGHLY recommend Ohana. They are the best!!

From the start Ryan, Maggie and everyone at Ohana was great. Ryan came looked at the bathroom, asked questions about what we wanted done. He came back a few days later with the bid. Ryan took the time to explain everything in the proposal and what Ohana would do. The bid was competitive with the other companies we had out for proposals.
We were not sure what we wanted for colors or designs. Maggie and Jamie were great going with us to various stores to help pick things out. They gave good information on various items, upkeep etc. Really helped us narrow down our decisions. Maggie came up with several different tile designs for both the floor and the tub wall. She again explained to us why something may or may not work.
All of the workers were very nice, cleaned up. Worked around our schedule when we had a conflict, nice to our dog. :-)
Loved the work they did very professional and friendly. When it is time for our next remodel we will be calling Ohana.

This was a huge job. Ryan ripped out our kitchen down to the studs and started over. Their design capabilities are fantastic, yet they happily submitted to our own choices on the few occasions that we had other ideas. As part of the project, our entire HVAC system and water heaters needed to be replaced, and all was handled flawlessly by Ohana. They could not have been more attentive, meeting us at showrooms, bringing samples, incorporating our ever-changing plan. We hit them with all kinds of changes and small adjustments and never got any resistance or attitude. This was a first for me. Do not hesitate to hire Ohana for any construction you're considering.

Sean, the gentleman with whom we dealt, was great, and he really listened to my wife and I when we described what we wanted out of the kitchen remodel. Furthermore, he did a good job of providing us with creative as well as cost-effective options, he was always available by email if we had any questions or concerns, and he was professional and courteous when dealing with us. Unfortunately, we couldn't go through with the remodel due to financial constraints, but we would definitely use him in the future once we're in a position to do so.
