.Progress on the project went much slower than expected. ChrisCampion--the owner--was not on-site supervising as he said he would be. Chris and his crew member (Dave) appeared to be intoxicated on the job, and Chris stated that he had fallen of the ladder and was belligerent toward my wife and I, indicating it was our fault due to something slippery he'd stepped in on the lawn (cat litter residue from a litter box rinse out). He later tried to engage me in conversation about religion and made some aggressive comments about my wife and my religious beliefs. After he, his crew member and some unknown gentlemen drank beer in our driveway until about 8pm (work finished around 7pm), I took photos of the paint bucket full of empty beer cans they'd left. The next day, I told Chris I would not tolerate drinking or intoxication on the work site. He denied it, and told me that the paint bucket full of beer cans was mine. After a further discussion, I told him I thought it would be best if we ended the project at that point. As he and his crew member were packing up, I overheard Chris saying 'I should smash his face in' and 'I should cut off his <male body part>'. At that point, I called the police, who arrived after Chris departed on foot and his colleague departed by BMX bike. Edina police confirmed they were 'aware' of Chris Campion, and that he was not legally allowed to drive. Google brought up a number of arrests and convictions for Chris, including assault on a peace officer, theft, trespassing, DUI and disorderly conduct. Chris showed up on foot today and began packing up his truck. I called the police immediately, who came and spoke with both Chris and I. I reiterated my story, and the officer reinforced my desire for Chris to leave ASAP (and that Chris had better not be driving the truck). Currently awaiting Chris's friend's arrival to drive the truck away. Avoid at all costs. Use Angie's List. Just re-upped my membership as a result of this experience. Description of Work: Chris Campion of CCC Painting--also doing business as Hornet Painting--was hired to paint the exterior of our home. He stated that he felt the job could be done with a single coat, as we were keeping the same color scheme. He later revised his assessment mid-project to say that the trim would need two coats, and the cost would go up. We had hired Chris on a neighbor's recommendation. We cancelled mid-project.
