"Any cost overruns were directly related to change orders made by the member. One major example, we built 2 dormers on the front of the house as per specs approved by the member. After the extensive framing was complete, the member decided that the dormers were too big and wanted us to tear them out and build new. The new dormer windows were now the wrong size and new smaller windows had to be ordered. This type of start, stop, build, tear out and build over was constant during the project. As a home owner you should have every right to design and to make changes during the course of the project but those changes, WILL result in cost overruns. Every part of this project was researched and design by the homeowner including a complex cold roof system. As the contractor, we were meticulous in every detail of the project and the end result was top quality but unfortunately over budget. This member should take responsibility for his management and design shortcomings and not throw the contractor under the bus."
