Slav and his team did a fantastic job finishing our basement!! He was able to come out and give us a quote quickly and beat the other quote we received in terms of both budget and timeline. The BEST! Slav and every single team member who came into our home to work, was truly a gift! Honestly, I cannot say enough about this company and our experience. Their workmanship was perfection. They were clean, kind, and extremely hard working! Our remodel was a big project! The whole main level (kitchen, bath, 2 living spaces, office, entry). They finished early! Which was no surprise because they were always at the house working! There was not a week day that went by that him and his crew were not at the house busy working. If their goal for the week wasn’t accomplished, they were at the house Saturday or Sunday as well. They always asked for permission of course to come on the weekend. They were extremely respectful! We are a large family and they were so accommodating and made this process as easy as possible. Their work was top of the line! The end result was beyond what I hoped for! We are so thankful for Slav and his team! They transformed our 80’s home into a beautiful, modern space for our family to create new memories in. We will miss seeing this amazing team everyday and Highly recommend Melco!

Slav and his team were great! They were the most fair quote that we received after a significant amount of research. Slav was very communicative, helpful, offered ideas of things to better suit our project/space/needs, and extremely reliable. They also worked quickly and started early. We have already recommended Slav to many friends and will continue to do so! We would literally hire this team to build us our own custom home - their finishing was top notch and clean. We have had many friends over who have had the same comments about the basement. Really nothing but good things to say!

Slav and his team expanded a basement workshop. He contacted me within an hour of my request, came to our house 2 hours later and started work the next week. Excellent quality, lower price than expected, best communication I've had from a contractor, finished ahead of schedule, very friendly workers, thoroughly cleaned up every day. Have already recommended him highly to friends planning house projects and would happily use again.

Not only are we very pleased with the work, we were totally impressed with the quality of the information, care, communication, and flexibility Slava showed. As with all projects, a few problems arose. They never stayed problems long as Slave was calm, competent, and committed to getting things done right.

Everyone on his crew was a pleasure to deal with. They worked hard and did a wonderful job. Even more, when we ran into delivery problems, they worked around that and finished one bathroom while we waited for the vanity for the other. The master bath needed custom cabinets that they stained and varnished on site. You should see them, they are beautiful.

Everyone always cleaned up after each day's work which made living through the remodeling experience much easier to bear. In fact, my husband said, "Now that the bathrooms are done, is there anything else we want them to do?"  We both recommend Melco without reservation.

I was impressed with Slav from the beginning as he was the only contractor I contacted that responded to my phone calls and emails in a timely fashion, usually within the same day. He listened to all my concerns, and very patiently answered my questions and dealt with my revisions when I asked for changes to the project and estimated cost. After I chose him as my contractor, he also worked willingly with my son-in-law and myself as there were parts of the project my son-in-law wanted to do to save me some money. We really appreciated that. Slav and his crew always let me know when they would be there and arrived on time.
I was impressed with their professionalism, courtesy and friendliness while on the job. And though I mourn the loss of my window (my problem) I am delighted with the outcome of the project.

Slav and crew were very professional and did a great job. Workers were there every day on time and worked hard. Job site was clean every night. Slav communicated perfectly every step of the way. All changes and issues were handled promptly and professionally. Our finished basement is fantastic. I would highly recommend Melco Remodeling for any home remodeling project.

It was amazing how quickly the whole process went. The crew came in and efficiently covered floors with protective runners, covered plastic over furniture in bedroom. It took about 2 days to completely gut both bathrooms.
From there, things just kept moving along always someone here working always promptly arriving, usually at 8 am. Polite and just busy and trying to stay out of the way, while getting things done. The plumbers worked for 3 solid days getting the plumbing done, making many trips up and down steps, up on the roof, whatever it took. They were amazing. The tiling was done with meticulous care, close attention to details and I love the results. Extensive tiling was done with ceramic tile, trim and stone on floor in one bathroom.
This all under the watchful eye of Slav who has a great relationship with his crew.
After interviewing many people, it was so great to have such a great experience. As a single lady, it is difficult to trust but I felt completely at ease. Everything just fell into place.
I can't wait to have another project for them to work on and would certainly hire them again without hesitation.

They submitted their bid, and drew up the plans. We were happy with what they proposed. We liked the men they had working on the project; they seemed like good guys and proved to be trustworthy. However, there were many things along the way that would keep me from recommending them.
(1) Careless with our home: contractors put down duct tape on our carpet in the middle of a room to protect it with a piece of cardboard, which ruined it and will never not come up (we will have to tear it up as it is embedded in the fibers). Also, they heavily damaged newly painted areas on the way in and out of the house, which we will have to re-do. They disposed of 100 year old craftsman built-in without asking us, as well as 100 year old maple flooring. Just made me sick to find out it was all at the bottom of the dumpster…
(2) We were pleased with their competitive bid, but poor planning on their part caused many overages, thousands of dollars worth were not even shared with us until they handed us the final bill. We were devastated; this was not a small overage, in all they went about 20% over on a large scale project. That is not acceptable. We did pay for the overages because we’re honest people, but it was painfully clear in this light that we had not chosen well.
(3) Contractor was not effective at communicating. If I hadn’t stepped in and said something out of turn on multiple occasions, we would have had quite a few things about our addition that would have been ugly, not useful, or what we did not originally agree upon. They want to do it the cheapest way possible, and they will not ask for your thoughts or opinions before moving forward with what they think they should do. I had to step in at points to say “no, stop doing this, and do it the way we discussed” which is completely unprofessional on their part. There are still many things that they changed along the way that reduced the quality of the final result, where I did not catch them to change it.
(4) Project went substantially over the projected time frame, nearly twice as long.
I did feel that the owner was an honest individual, but this was perhaps just too large of a job for his level of experience. I'm unsure about the positive reviews on the internet about Melco, as it would seem we had the opposite of the typical experience with them. However, I can't in good faith recommend them.

Fantastic!! Melco Remodeling has completed multiple large scale projects at my house. Attic to master suite, new dormer and bathroom, extensive trim and built ins, new roof, new screen porch, and remodeled a bathroom. The most recent project was a smaller scale, but Slav spent hours finding just the right materials for the project. Excellent carpentry. Overall, I do not need to look for any other contractor. Slav and team are excellent.
