I & s group

I & S has to be one of the worst engineers in the state of Minnesota and maybe the entire nation. SAFETY is not a top priority of this firm. They have started designing streets without crowns. In the winter when we start the thaw and freeze cycle, the snow and ice melts on the high side of the street and starts to run across the street. When the sun goes down the water refreezes and creates some of the worst ice conditions you can imagine on a street. We are a small town and have very few sidewalks so everyone has to walk these dangerous streets. we have a combined school district so the kids must walk these streets to meet the school buses at designated places. One of the most dangerous streets is where the school bus stops. I got home after dark and went to the mailbox to get my mail. It had been the first thaw of the year and I didn't realize there was ice on the street. I fell and shattered my wrist very severely. Talked with I & S and they said they are not liable for anything they design. They are immune from pretty much anything they do. Essentially they claim they are GOD and can do whatever they want and no one can touch them. believe me when I say I have tried. I would avoid the use of this firm under any conditions. Run fast and find a reliable engineer. These guys might be alright if you live in the southern states where ice is not a problem. Why put expensive curbs on streets if you aren't going to direct the water to run down them. This group also lets the contractors get away with about anything that the contractor wants to do. mistakes don't seem to bother them. One of the contractors came in and between layers of blacktop, cut out the bad spots and threw the blacktop pieces in the yard and then never bothered picking them up. I had cleaned up the yard and mowed these areas because a year was waited to put final coat on. When I went to mow I didn't know these pieces had been left and ruined my lawn mower when I hit them. no one seems to care about fixing my lawn mower. Another contractor seeded and placed sod in areas. During the watering process they used such huge watering truck and water pipe that they washed out areas of the ditch. the wash outs are so bad I can't even run my mower over them but yet no one will fix it. They put curb and gutter driveway cut outs in the wrong places. Neighbor had a crushed rock driveway and instead of putting the cut out there they put it on the wrong side of the house. NO ONE fixed it. On another driveway the owner had a C shaped crushed rock driveway. They dug it all up by the street about 15 feet back in the yard and didn't bother to replace his driveway. just sodded over the area and left. I had to help put a new driveway in for him. These guys are terrible.
