Absolutely horrible experience. 0 out of 10 stars. Would never recommend. Ron came in seemingly a nice, old guy, that was well qualified to do this type of work. He boasts of his years of experience and his BBB rating of A+....boy, were we in for a rude surprise. He advised that it would take a "couple weeks" to complete the work on the original bid. We removed several tasks from Ron's bid; We took care of the demo and hauling of debris, told him that we would complete the painting, installing brackets and shelving in new closet, and staining and installing window and base trim. This only left Ron with the framing, hanging drywall, tape/mud and hanging four doors. At 2 1/2 weeks in (with maybe 50 hours worked...and that's a generous estimate), Ron had the framing and hanging of drywall completed. He was working on mudding and was having a difficult time building up the mud to disguise the huge humps he created when joining his new walls, with our home's existing walls. One wall was left with a 1 1/4 inch difference between the existing wall, and Ron's wall! Before we realized that he completely lacked the ability to complete the job correctly (day 2) we had already given him $3200. This was just for labor. We purchased all of the timber, sheetrock, screws, mud, paid for the permit etc. He made snide comments and was rude, primarily when my husband was at work. I generally kept my mouth shut, as he had our money, and I wanted my kid's rooms to be done before school! That didn't happen. At week 2 1/2, my husband confronted him, as Ron was trying to add mud, to build the new walls up. My husband asked Ron if he was capable of completing this job and making it right. Ron proceeded to get defensive, grabbed a level, put it on his wall, and stated "my work is level. My work is perfect!". Um, when there are huge humps where his walls meet the existing walls, his work is far from perfect. He stated that it was our existing walls that were the issue, not his work. He proceeded to inform us that we owed him an additional $2400 in order for him to continue to attempt to fix his mess and hang the doors. We told him that we were not paying that, as his work is unacceptable, and he didn't complete the work to rectify paying more. He said "you can't screw me out of that money!". He didn't even come near completion! Ron is the one that screwed us out of money, time, and all the supplies we paid for/picked up. We deserve a refund, in order to compensate a new contractor, to fix Ron's subpar work. - Another area of concern: Ron showed up to our home, unannounced, while my husband and I were out. My son answered the door, and Ron told him that he just needed to add some spray foam to an area. My kids let him in to do this, but how absolutely ridiculous! You don't just show up to a house, unannounced, on a day you weren't supposed to be there! Call or text beforehand!
