It was a nightmare. The painting of the cupboards was nice, however he broke 2 drawers which he left out and never fixed. The countertop does not meet in the middle by the sink. He charged about $1,500.00 to take out a perfectly level floor and put in uneven sublfooring, which has sunk and dips and boards have come up and I am going to have to have the whole thing redone, will have the flooring removed, a leveler put down and new flooring put down. I can send pictures. Everything tilts. Painted some floor boards, did not paint others. Seemed to show up when he wanted to. 2 years later I need to have everything redone. Installed cupboards back up so there is a gap between the ceiling and the cupboards, but for extra he could fix that, and they had been perfect before.
Like I said, he and his work were a nightmare. I spent my inheritance doing the kitchen and have to have it all redone.
Said he would show up many times and never came over.
I am thinking of suing as everything falls apart.

Had our last week or so of interactions with Blair gone differently, this would be a much more fully positive review.
Blair came out promptly to provide our estimate. He reviewed our plans and we discussed the scope of work. We were pleasantly surprised when we received the estimate; Blair came in much lower than we were expecting. Blair gave us a time estimate of approximately 4 weeks.
Demo was uneventful. Blair had 2 other guys working on the re-texturing of the ceilings; they were messy and loud, but seemed to do okay work. During ceiling work, one of 2 matching dining room chandelier was broken.
Blair assembled the cabinetry and installed it. Other than some relatively minor assembly goofs (which were fixed when I pointed them out and the proper method of handling) Blair did nice work on the cabinet install. We added baseboard installation to the scope of work and Blair did an outstanding job of matching the stain and installing the baseboards. Blair originally quoted a price for installing venting, which I took to mean the vent hood and he apparently meant just the vent hole. In any event, he decided he was uncomfortable with that job and removed it from the scope.
The remodel took approx 10 weeks. Some of the delay was due to factors outside of Blair's control, but I believe that some of the delay was due to other jobs he had taken on. We did have to press, repeatedly, to get an idea of which days Blair would be over and which ones he wouldn't.
Blair suggested we find replacement light fixtures for the one that he broke and said he'd take the cost of the fixtures and their install off our bill, which he did. We found this to be a very fair resolution to the issue.
My husband paid him in full with one item remaining on his punch list, which was the install of the light rail trim on the bottom of the upper cabinets. Blair took the final check and never contacted us again except with one text message in which he said and quot;I won't be able to install your trim.and quot; This final item would have probably taken him only a few hours, but I believe he decided to and quot;cut his lossesand quot; when the job turned out to be not so profitable after having to deal with the chandelier replacement.
I believe Blair is essentially a good guy who made an unprofessional choice at the end. It's too bad as I generally was pleased with the quality of his work and was essentially willing to deal with having to ask him when he'd be there, etc. We have other work planned, and I would have been happy to have Blair do it, but that very last experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Blair was very responsive and got to work immediately. The sheet rock took about 3 visits before it was finished and he made sure that his visits followed each other. We were unable to get paint for one room and Blair had to do more painting. His adjustment for the additional work was very fair. He gave us a discount for some paint that we provided him. His work was exemplary and the basement looks brand new. He also helped us re-install a bar before the carpet came again. He was very professional and easy to work with. I would highly recommend him for sheet rock repair, painting and baseboard reinstall.
