Salesman came door to door in Maple Grove. Had flyer, said they where working in area. Price seemed OK. Salesman told a "worker" generally what to do, but details where lost. Workers where fast, but it was evident they where not arborist. We were home, went inside for 20 min. when we went back outside, we found they had unearthed and moved our swingset (which they broke) to the other side of the yard. Salesman wanted us to make check out to another person (not Scott's Tree Service).  Worker said they would be back the next day to complete the job at 7AM, however after waiting till 8 AM, I called the salesman, and he said they wouldn't be around till 11 AM. Seems to be a "shady" operation.

We used them a few years ago. I would recommend that people look elsewhere. When they moved one of our trees they severely damaged about a 25-foot tall spruce tree, which wasn't intended to be hurt at all. They offered a couple of small replacement trees but that was not satisfactory. We paid them but we would not hire this again.

They were reasonable and they came when they said they would come. They were fast. I would recommend them.

I usually only go off of Angie's List, however, a gentleman stopped by with a flyer and offered to give a free estimate for trimming. Tom seemed knowledgable and the estimate was reasonable, so I agreed to have him do the work. He told me he could come back later the same afternoon. They came exactly when they said they would. They trimmed the trees and made great recommendations as to which branches should be trimmed. They noticed some dead trees and said they could take care of those today, too. The crew was polite and friendly. They talked to my kids who were overly interested in what was going on. They pet my pesty dog. Overall, very nice group. The fellow who climbed the trees to cut the high branches was great. He was clearly very good and experienced. They even took down a few extra branches and one small dead tree (after asking if it was OK) and they didn't charge us any extra. They did an excellent clean-up job. They raked up all the left-over branches and blew away the chips and dust that was created.

They did a very good job. It was about $300 less than another bid I received for the same work. The cleanup was excellent and the work was performed the same day. They accidentally missed a stump and came right back the next day to take care of it at no charge.
