About us
My handyman service was formed after retiring from owning my own company for 25 years. I have done total remodels of apt buildings and homes since 1976. We can repair or replace light switches,outlets, minor plumbing,hang a picture or window blinds. Paint a wall or a room, run an errand, shovel a walk, fix a pool pump or filter, clean gutters or any other minor repair. I owned a large service company for 25 years bidding jobs from a couple of hundred dollars up to $200,000.00. I learned over that time that if I bid high to make sure I was covered and to make some money that it was unfair to the customer. If I bid too low I was unfair to myself. That is one of the reasons I typically do not bid work. I try to be very fair in what I do charge a customer as many of the customers on here that gave me A's will tell you.

I am not licensed as I do not need a license to do handyman work in MInnesota., We can repair or replace light switches or outlets, clean gutters or any other minor repair or problem you have. I do not give estimates but try and tell you about how long it will take if the job goes as planned. Also, fix a pool pump or filter, hang a picture or window blinds, minor plumbing repairs, paint a wall or a room, patch a hole in the wall, run an errand, shovel a walk

Rich helped us get our home ready to put on the market. The amount of categories he covered was vast. It was a long list that continually grew. Rich saw it through to the end and did a first class job and we were extremely happy with all of his work! I would hire him again in a heart beat and am planning on calling him again to help in our new home!

Rich hung some heavy mirrors, put up some racks, re-sealed the shower and re-hung and fixed the shed door. He did an excellent job and I would definitely have him back again.

Overall, Rich was professional and provided quality work. All my jobs were random and I worried it wouldn’t be worth anyone’s time, but Rich tackled it all. It was a great experience and I’ve already called him back for work on my washing machine. I definitely recommend Rich for all types of household repairs.

Once the cause was found Rich went toMenards and purchased a new set up and not marking up the price for materials purchased which is unusual for contractors.

Jerry replaced a number of old hollow interior doors with solid core doors, fitting and installing all new door hardware as well. The job was a bit of work but Jerry did a great job and we were very pleased with the results. We would absolutely hire him again!

Work was completed in a timely and professional manner. Door frames are on the lower level and have been an issue since the house was built. They are finally solid and work in all seasons. House is on a lake and so we have dramatic changes in humidity levels which wreaked havoc on the lower level door framing and thus operation of the doors. They have worked like a charm in the last few years since Rich repaired them.

His first job went well because there was an additional person with him (an additional charge of $20 per hour) Subsequent jobs were inadequate at best. He was unable to move an extension ladder independently. He was also not able to make a 45 degree cut with a mitre saw.

"The 1st job required 2 people to complete it. There was no way one guy could get the buried concrete out of the ground by himself. That is one of the reasons why the 1st contractor you hired showed up the 1st day and never showed up again. I hired help with your permission. I did have trouble moving the 20' ladder around by myself. You have windows everywhere which dictated where and how to set the ladder up. One slip and there goes a window. However I did do it when you were not around. It was not easy and I was always worried about slipping and one of us being down below and it going thru the window with the glass dropping on us. I wanted to hire help again but you VOLUNTEERED to help rather then spend additional money on another person. That was your choice. And the patching of the wood and the paint job itself turned out fine. The only issue was the moving of the ladder. I'm a handyman not a superman. You are right about the cuts with the saw. The saw was not cutting straight. You noticed it before I did but you never said anything until I did. I started using a power saw after that. I also told you that as of that day I was not charging for my labor. I spent the next day and a 1/2 working for free. I did make a mistake on one of the boards. I told you I would bring another board over and either drop it off or I would bring it over and cut it again. You said no to both. I'm sorry it turned out this way and that you feel the way you do."

it went good and the fan and light work well, but took several hours to do....mostly because i had previously had a fan/light that was operating with a dimmer switch on the wall and he didn't hook this one up to the dimmer switch (which operates the light - the previous fan operated by the pull chain)....he didn't tell me though that he didn't hook it up to the dimmer switch tho till he was all finished....and i checked with the manufacturer then and some fans don't work with a dimmer although they couldn't say if that was the case with this one....i just would've appreciated knowing that he wasn't going to hook it up to the dimmer in the beginning cuz i would've had the chance to maybe run to menards and get a different fan/light that would work with my dimmer as i really enjoy that option....that being said, he really worked hard and for several hours at no additional fee trying to figure out how to accomplish what i wanted, even though it seemed finally that it just couldn't be done....so it now operates just at the fan itself, with no dimmer....

Rich did a very nice job for me. He completed the work, cleaned up after work done. He is pleasant and easygoing. Was open to suggestions, answered questions and was totally honest in calculating hours to charge for his work. I would absolutely hire him again.

Rich was very good about explaining exactly what was involved in each repair. All of the work he did turned out even better than I had expected. At last, my front entry door shuts tight where it used to gape open against the damaged frame. I really appreciate how the roof repairs have improved the look of this quaint old hobby farm, which is really important since the buildings frame the view of the yard and lake. The cost was very reasonable for excellent quality work, done on schedule, with no unpleasant surprises. I won't hesitate to call HoneyDo Handyman again!

It went very well. Some of the timbers had little or no finish left on them before Rich started - they were very dry. After the application of 3 and 4 coats of oil stain, the timbers had a very rich look and a good weather proof finish.

Honeydo Handyman and his son, Shane showed up promptly. Stripping all the stain and paint off the patio boards was not an easy task. However, they did an awesome job. I was very pleased. I thought they were very professional and courteous. If I need their help again, I will certainly hire them

Was great! 100% pleased with the installation. Rich worked through numerous obstacles, built an extra-security mount for the fan, double-checked everything and clean-up better than I would have(!) We will hire him again anytime we have a need we can't service ourselves. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
