FRIEDGES LANDSCAPING INC

This company was hired by contractor for street reconstruction in our area. The results speak for themselves and are awful. Friedges is always low bidder on a project...you get what you pay for and results are terrible. Their hydroseed process includes low quality soil...low quality seed and general case less attitude of workers in your yard. Most lawns including mine in the area are now full of weeds and dead grass where nice green turf once was. I waited to write this review until they had a second chance at making things right. Second attempt worse than the first. I would recommend not hiring this company for any independent projects. Quality is not there.

My experience with Friedges was excellent. Jim was easy to work with and upfront with the costs. He clearly communicated our timeline and the barriers we faced such as the incessant rain we had in October. What really made the service outstanding was the response to an SOS I sent out to Jim the day before our sod install. Another contractor was putting in a cement patio and allowed a cement truck to roll on our already soft lawn. Subsequently it was buried up the wheel wells in mud and became hopelessly stuck. Another cement truck had to tow it out with great effort. As a result, I had ruts over 1 foot in depth in some places. My previously flat lawn was a total wreck. The contractor offer to use his wheeled skid loader to fix it, however the same skid loader had struggled to not sink the day before, they would have created more of a mess and ruined my schedule install. In pure desperation I called Jim to see what could be done. He personally came to my home to assess the situation and took action immediately. He had his crew at my house an hour later with the proper machinery to fix yard. After a lot of work and additional black dirt needed to fill in the compress wheel ruts, my lawn was better than when it receive a final grade from another excavating company, looked perfect. On the day of the install, the lead installer was very pleasant and had an excellent eye for detail. You knew he wanted it to look just right. Better still he continually smoothed the land prior to sod being laid for the right fit. He was a thorough professional and you could tell by his work. Jim and his crew did an excellent job, couldn't be happier. Highly recommend and will use again on future projects.

The work that they performed was ok but not what we had discussed at the consultation . We had discussed grading and French drain or weeping tile along the side of our house, but only grading was done. Unfortunately my husband didn't read the contract closely enough and we agreed to the job. They wanted $3500 for the grading job, we ended being able to get them to knock off $500 for the misunderstanding. They also kept putting our job off because they had larger jobs that paid more money.

Mulch was delivered when promised and (a rushed job so we could have it before company arrived). A number of workmen showed up and did a great job, very professional.

Delivered on time as promised.  Material quality was as expected with no debris and minimal dust.

This was seriously high quality mulch! The employees were so helpful and extra careful when scooping it into my husband's truck. Very nice staff, lots of selection and great prices. So glad we live close, but even if we didn't we'd make the trip!

Went great. All I expected.

We ordered 7 yards of landscaping mulch for delivery. The company delivered the product on schedule. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. We also purchased some uncut stone pavers which we installed ourselves. All the products were of high quality. The company has a large assortment of landscaping materials.
