It went well! Their office staff is fantastic and pleasant. I do wish recycling was done weekly. I wind up producing more recycling than garbage...

Scheduled special pick up of couch by phone and they did not come. Called to ask, was simply told, "No one did a work order?" Now I have a couch at the end of my drive for a week since they won't come back until next Friday. no real sense of concern on the part of the employee, including unwillingness to tell me the earliest time they might come next Friday until I asked specifically what time they start work.

We are changing to GarbageMan on September 1. This is not due to any shortcoming with DSI/LSI, but rather that Garbageman offers weekly recycling (DSI/LSI does biweekly) and the cost of the improved service is less by over $10 per quarter.
I am posting primarily due to one complaint of business practice at DSI/LSI. DSI/LSI bills for the yard waste can on an annual basis in advance. We prepaid for 2015. They are refusing to allow us to continue to use the yard waste can for the balance of 2015 even though it is prepaid. They are also unwilling to refund proportionally for the balance of 2015. When we signed up for the yard waste can, they never indicated the policy that you need to have regular garbage pickup to continue with the yard waste can, and they never showed a written or verbal policy that no pro-rated refund would be allowed. I suspect there is no such policy available for customers to view online. Hence the F on professionalism.

The cost is $75 every three months. They are kind of awesome all the way around. They are very professional and customer service oriented. The company is very friendly when I talk to them. Whenever I need something extra from them they are all over it. They are just great.

From first contact on, Dick's has been a quality operation. Their sales manager was canvassing my neighborhood and I'm usually careful with front-door sales calls. He was friendly and quickly laid out their proposal. I told him that I wasn't sure whether or not we had a contract with the current hauler, so he jotted down the main points and a price quote on one of his business cards.
Within a couple of weeks, the quarterly bill came for renewing our contract. The amount they were asking for was 3 times the amount I was quoted from Dick's Sanitation. The deal I got guaranteed the rates for 2 years and limited any subsequent increase to 10% annually. They also offered to take care of the transition from the former hauler (and cautioned us that the old company was known for slow removal of their carts after services were quit). Dick's delivered the new carts and started service promptly, as scheduled.
The only glitch was the omission of recycling pickup on the first day of that service. It turned out to be an oversight on the part of the route driver. He came by later in the day to take care of it - no harm done.
We have committed to 2 years with them, and I hope it stays this good.

I am so glad that I read the reviews about the garbage haulers in Eagan before selecting Dick's! I agree with the positive reviews I read. They have hauled our garbage for a few weeks now.
They arrive at the perfect time - not too early in the morning so if you forget to put your trash or recycling out the night before you can still do so before you go to work, but not so late that they are coming in the afternoon or evening. The drivers are careful. They get out of the truck to guide the can on to the truck and pick up anything left near it.
After we moved in, I called to make sure I could leave boxes next to our can since we had extra trash. They were very nice and explained the process well. I feel their price is fair so I am very glad we selected them!

Dick's Sanitation is the cheapest garbage hauler in the Eagan area that
I've found and i've called them all--mostly recently about 2 months
ago. They also are the first ones to show up in my neighborhood, so my
garbage is always picked up before noon. They don't leave any mess on
the street like some other haulers do. In terms of the actual service
they provide, I think they're the best out of the group.

I talked to was very apologetic and said my rate shouldn't be that high
and he reduced it back to the old rate. No explanation of why the rate
was raised or why it could suddenly be lowered. It makes me wonder if
every customer is charged something different and charged as high as
possible until they question it. A couple of months ago my
bill was higher again and so I called to ask if the rates were going up
and why they couldn't give customers some warning that rates were going
up. The woman I spoke with was rude. She said she could lower my bill
but then it would go up again after a certain time period. That seemed
odd to me--shouldn't there be a set rate, period? I tried to explain it
would just be nice to receive some notice of what the actual rate was
and when they were going up and what the new rate would be like other companies give (e.g., Comcast, utilities), but she was
still quite rude and said they didn't give such notices and didn't have to.
A few days later in my mail I received a contract from them giving me a lower rate but stating that if I didn't commit to Dick's Sanitation for a year, then I would be charged fees if I dropped them and fees if I switched back to them. I was sort of appalled--I shouldn't be charged to cancel a service I'm not satisfied with. After reading reviews of some other garbage haulers, I don't think this is an isolated practice, but I do feel it's a bad and sort of sleazy business practice.

I used them for many years and never had a problem with them. They always pick up on time...I'm very happy with them.

I've used them for my garbage pick-up for several years and they've done a good job, except for a couple times when they didn't pick up my garbage or recycling. One time the garbage truck driver knocked over our mailbox but they offered to fix it for us. We opted to fix it ourselves.
