Kent (owner) installed a new water heater, under warranty, for me in August '12.  He was on time, prepared, and got the job done quickly.  I was so impressed with him that I am currently using him for a kitchen update (counter, sink, fixtures & disposal).  He has proven to be honest, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, punctual and responsive to my questions.  There was a delay in getting the counter due to the manufacturer, and he kept me informed and he stayed on top of the manufacturer to make sure the delay did not drag on. I would highly recommend him for any remodeling work.

Kent Klayum's company, Dakota HOme Improvement, had been recommended to us by another contractor. Kent responded to our first phone call and came out to look at our job that day. We discussed all the problems we'd had to date in finding someone to do the job without having new doors made. We showed Kent all the difficulties with the doors; not being square, different hinges on each side, not being flush with the stucco siding, etc. We talked over several possibilities and decided to put panels over the existing doors, as these were solid and would last a long time. We gave Kent a piece of the new garage door material that we had stained and he took that with him to use for purchasing a close match. Given that the garage doors are a composite material and we would be using real wood for the shed, we knew a perfect match was not possible. Kent quoted us a price of $635 and explained he was on a current job and that it would be several weeks before he could start our project. He said he would acquire all the materials needed for our job and have the panels stained, varnished and ready to go when he started. After two weeks had gone by, Kent emailed us and explained why his current job was taking longer than expected, and gave us a new start date. Kent called the day before he was to begin and agreed to a start time. As agreed, Kent was there on time with the panels, ready to go. We ran into a few difficulties and made some adjustments on the spot. It required extra work on Kent's part and some additional materials, but Kent finished up in two days and the doors look amazing. We are truly satisfied with the finished result and think Kent is a remarkable craftsman.
