We complained and the owner and head painter came out to note our 'problems' we were told that our expectations were too high for exterior paint jobs. They made note of areas they would rectify. The next day a 2 man pint crew came out, neither of them were there when we showed the problem areas. These two did not speak english, they walked around a lot, painted a few things and then drove off. We are very disatisfied. Their un-professionalism, starting with the owner was epic.
I met with one of the owners on a few occasions to address how the basement staining could be corrected and was told repeatedly that it was good as it could be and everything had to do with the effects of the wood. The owner was demeaning and very clear that he would do things his way only and that I should accept it or not. He spent in excess of about 90 minutes on two occasions trying to explain how everything was as good as it could be and "I needed to correct my vision". One of the stainer's returned and worked with me and improved the window and door staining by 1000% with some attention to the detail of the job. I met again with the owner to further clarify how the remainder of the job should be addressed and the owner was not willing to work on getting the correct stain color or providing the attention needed to do the job well.
They did stain my carpet and so will have to have that addressed as well.
I would not recommend Cityscapes for any services.
two decks. But the two guys who came a week later could barely speak the language so we couldn't communicate, and brought their two kids with them, 16 and 12. We did not want to be responsible for two kids around a "construction site." We've had non-English speakers do excellent work on our house before, but they were supervised by someone who could communicate with them. These guys did shoddy work, caulking here and there instead of full windows etc. We called the company and they sent out the sales rep who sold us the paint job. He talked to the guys and things seemed better. But the guys went back to their usual way, rushing through the job. My husband stayed home from work for three days and checked on them every hour, making sure they did the quality work we were expecting. After prep, they were supposed to spray, then brush the paint on. But they sprayed like crazy and did minimal brushing so there's "hangnails" of paint where it ran or clustered. The house looks okay, but we've got some fix-up work to do next summer. Cityscape's price was about half the other outfits who gave us estimates (the ones we could get here, they were all so busy by May). We thought (hoped) the cheaper price was because Cityscape was experienced and efficient, but it was because they were fast and skipped over details. If I could do it over, I would have gotten estimates in March, before actual painting started and outfits would be more likely to respond. And I'd probably go with someone more expensive, or a smaller company that could supervise their jobs better.
On time. On budget. Good quality work.
