Kent looked over the existing deck and discussed a number of options for replacing/repairing what we had. He was careful to point out aspects of the existing deck that no longer would meet code and would be required to change. He talked with the Lakeville building inspectors to confirm what could (and couldn't) be reused prior to getting the building permit. The project stayed on schedule but did require Kent and the carpenters to work a couple of long days. The original price quote was accepted with the understanding that some items planned for reuse may not in fact work. As the project progressed we were kept updated with cost changes. They were fairly minimal around $200. We are thrilled with the results! We went from ghetto deck to state-of-the-art deck. We have received many compliments on the deck.

We had been wanting to replace the doors for quite awhile. We saw the home improvement store had the doors on sale for $100/each we talked to Kent about moving head with the replacement project. We were just finishing a new deck project with Kent, so he was already on site and able to use the dumpster for the old deck to include the old doors - this saved some money. He quoted us the price and gave us a schedule. His team demo'd the old doors and installed the new ones. Painter/Stainer crew created a big plastic tent in our garage where they stained the doors and applied poly. The inside stain/poly of the door frames was naturally smelly so we were fortunate the windows could be open and fans running. We expanded the project a bit by replacing door trim in our entry so all would match. We are thrilled with the results!

The whole experience was very good. Kent was on top of everything and was good about reminding us about what we needed to do. He was flexible, too. We wanted to do the painting, trim staining, and carpeting ourselves, and he had no problem with that. He kept us up to date on progress. All the subcontractors did good work.

Kent was polite. The electrical and plumbing sub-contractors were very professional. Had major plumbing accident that plumber took full responsibility for. The plumber and electricians did excellent work and I would use them again. The sheetrocking and mudding were mediocre and nail gun marks are coming through a closet wall that we will have to fix at a future time. Kent expected us to lay out our own tile so the tiller would just have to put it on the wall. We felt this an unusual request, and that he should have used a tiller who was use to working with stone. We did not have Kent put the stone work on the fireplace. He was not familiar with dry stacking and besides his bid came in very high. Overall, the price of this one man operation did not save us any money over a larger company.

KENT WAS ON TIME AND PROFESSIONAL WITH HIS BID. I HAVE A FEELING THEY WOULD HAVE DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB. I CHOSE ANOTHER CONTRACTOR BECAUSE THE OTHER BID WAS SIMILAR IN PRICE, BUT INCLUDED FULL WALL AND CEILING DEMO, AND PAINTING AND STAINING WHILE ALLIED'S DID NOT.
