When looking for a piano, I visited Ackerman's as part of my search. Though they didn't currently have a piano that met my needs, it was a great experience. Tim didn't pressure me at all to buy anything. Furthermore, he was very helpful in explaining what to look for in pianos, and was more than willing to answer all of my questions. Tim is clearly an expert in pianos and piano restoration. I would not hesitate to buy a piano from him in the future, or to have work done on my piano. Outstanding experience.

Description of Work: They rebuilt and refinished a 1929 Starck Upright piano. This included repairing the sounding board and replacing many of the inner working parts of the piano, such as the pinplank, hammer butts, and strings; and repairing or regulating others. The sound is now lovely again and the the restoration of the exterior is perfect. They demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, take pride in their craftsmanship and were informative, helpful and professional throughout the process. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: PAINTED PIANO SURFACE WAS DAMAGED BY PAINTING CONTRACTOR. ACKERMANS REMOVED PIECE AND TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TO RESTORE THE FINISH.
