Allen Seebeck promptly arrived at my home in South Minneapolis to perform and energy efficiency analysis. I have a nice home, but it was built in 1921. My energy bills are high and I wanted to find a way to reduce costs. I asked around and was referred to Al Seebeck by a friend. Al arrived promptly and did a VERY THOROUGH inspection of every room in the house. He has some kind of high powered, expensive thermal (heat infrared) camera that is able to distinctly identify all sources of energy loss in the home. He also has some cool technologies that help display moisture intrusion (even in the middle of the winter). He identified leaks in my home that I would have never thought existed. You'd be amazed at the areas of your home that allow cold air to enter. They were places the blind eye can't see and the too subtle for the other senses to perceive. At each energy loss point in my home Al explained how I could correct and better insulate the area. In addition to his energy expertise, he has a great deal of knowledge in general regarding homes. He provided me a number of great tips regarding my plumbing and electrical. He even helped me prevent what would have been a terrible ice dam! Shortly after the consultation Al sent me a detailed report describing all of the issues the two of us had discussed. The report itself is worth $500 to me. My only SMALL issue was that he provided me the names of many products which could help, but I didn't know where to get them. I wish he would have provided me with a product list of all the things he discussed and where I could get them. Considering Al's overall knowledge beyond just energy efficiency I got a great overall analysis of my home for only $250, which is way more than I would have gotten from another company's energy inspection. I plan to do this yearly. It will save me in the long run and it'll be good for my home's value! I strongly recommend a home energy efficiency audit. If you do it, go with Al Seebeck.
