Excellent. I called Chris Figenshaw from a flight home from Boston on Sunday and on Tuesday morning I met with her and her crew had nine 7 ft tall arborvitaes planted by the afternoon. That is amazing customer service. Would not use anyone else.

Perfect. This is our fourth time using Walker and the largest project so far. Chris and Kelly are fantastic to work with. On short notice they landscaped our entire pool area and surrounds, the sides of our yards to make the landscaping from front to back seamless, installed LED lights in front and back and a boulder retaining wall. They exceeded our expectations. I talked to Chris about what type of plantings we wanted and she absolutely nailed it with a combination of color, evergreens, grasses and three beautiful hydrangea trees at the end or the pool. Chris listened to what we wanted and executed to perfection. I completely trust Chris on plant selection and placement. They are very professional, show up at 6:30 a.m. to begin work and the quality of their work is second to none. My wife and I wouldn't use anyone else.

Kelly and Chris put in landscape, concrete and pavers two years ago. Love it. Called for mulch and cleanup this year and they trim everything back, weed, mulch and make it look like new with more mature vegetation. They are so responsive. I send Chris an email, tell her what we are looking for and next day at 7:00 a.m. they start and done by afternoon. Great at what they do, fair price, extremely responsive, professional, and just darn nice.

Chris and Kelly were fabulous to work with. Once we called to ask for an estimate they responded very promptly. They were always quick to respond to all questions we asked and extremely professional to work with. They started on the exact date they said they would and finished the job quickly. Their crew starts before 7:00 a.m. and does not waste any time. We trusted Chris and Kelly with plant and material selection and placement of plantings, berms and boulders. We are very pleased with the result.
I would certainly use Walker again for any future landscaping needs.

EDIT: After a while, the owner contacted me, and did agree to come back and seal the pavers, They also came out and replaced some plants that didn't quite make it over the winter, which I give them points for, considering they probably aren't too happy with me as a client at this point. So the work is now complete, but a large headache and time spent filling out as many bad reviews as I could online to get to this point leaves them with a "C" overall in my mind.
ORIGINAL: Let me start off by saying the worst part about this, is that it was a referral. If this is how they treat referral customers, I would hate to see how they treat their normal customers.
Where to begin? I cannot even really put into words how terrible it was to work with this company. Chris the project manager came out to do a site survey, and we worked with her to decide what we wanted done. Then the day they showed up, she must not have taken any notes, because she didn't remember anything we had talked about, and we had to go over it all again, as she said "I forgot.". Not a good sign, but what can you do at this point?
Work then started and everything seemed to be going ok until that evening. When we tried to run the sprinkler system, we found they had cut one of the main lines next to the house, covered some other heads with dirt, and drove the bobcat over some other heads, ruining those. We only discovered this after they had left and we went to water our new landscaping. So at 6pm after work I am up to my elbows in mud trying to shut off a mudslide because they didn't test before they left.
We were leaving out of town in 2 days, and obviously needed the system fixed before we could do that. After not hearing back from Chris all day, we finally sent an email letting them know we would use our own sprinkler vendor to fix it, and deduct that from the bill. That finally got a response out of her, but they barely made it out to fix the issue before we left.
Also, our contract included tearing out all the rock in the front and side of the house, but we noticed on the side of the house they were simply covering the rock with mulch. When we asked Chris about this, she said "that was never included." Here is an excerpt from the contract: Remove front existing raised planters and all existing edging, rock and plantings. Area around front trees and shrubs on sides of home will be included in the tear-out. I should mention that not only does the contract say remove ALL existing rock, but we also have shrubs going all the way from front to back on the side of the house in question. At this point i was so stressed out, i simply gave in, and said ok when Chris told me they would not remove the rock, but would just turn the dirt over and put some extra mulch down. They really did a half-a** job on that too.
Not 5 minutes after the last guy left we received an email from Chris saying that payment was due in full TODAY. 5 minutes after the last guy left! Not a courteous email, or call asking if there was anything else, but a curt, demanding email for payment, even after all the mistakes that had been made. I asked about sealing the pavers, since we had discussed that with Chris, and she replied "We can?t seal for a few months until silica migrates out." So i left it at that, and cut them a check for the full amount, really more just to get them out of my hair since I really couldn't deal with the stress any further. So here we are about a month down the road, and i inquired about an issue with a pop-up gutter, and when they were coming back to finish the sealing of the pavers. here is the response:

Chris, I'm noticing something about the pop up valve that might need some adjusting. After these few rains we've had, it seems to be working its way up out of the ground and is sitting about an inch higher than it originally did. My question is, did your guys put down some sort of gravel under both the length of the corrugated duct and the head of the pop-up? I'm worried that if its already raised up a bit with rain, that over the winter as the ground freezes and thaws, it could really be sitting above the ground and even out of plumb at that point. Thoughts?

No, no, no.......Sealing is ALWAYS an option and is a homeowner preference as far as a ?wet? or ?dry? look. We DO have to wait 2-3 months if homeowners want it done to allow silica to migrate out or the chalky look gets sealed in. It was not included in the estimate ? as you can see it was never mentioned, nor would it be. I have the same sealing conversation with every customer and it has never been assumed that it was included. I?m sorry but it was an unfortunate assumption on your part. The sealing will be an additional $350.00 Otherwise it is a very easy homeowner project that you could do very inexpensively and we can help guide you.

So, to finish this review, I guess shame on me for not verifying that it specifically doesn't say sealing of pavers, and only install of pavers in the contract, I guess i thought that was included with the paver install verbiage since we told them we wanted it up front. Not like they stuck to the contract anyway. Just the demeanor and tone of these emails was the way things went for the entire project. Maybe the company is ok, but Chris the PM is a total nightmare and I think they should get rid of her ASAP. She doesn't know how to communicate, set proper expectations, or write an email in a respectful tone. . ***Adding to this review*** On

It was delightful working with Walker Lawn and Landscape. They were the most straight-forward, honest, and professional of the companies that I contacted. Furthermore, they were always responsive to any questions or concerns that I had, they were very accomodating of any changes that I made to the designs, and there were no surprises regarding the final outcome or the project's cost. Ultimately, they did a fantastic job for a reasonable price, and the yard looks great.

Walker has been mowing my lawn for the past two years and doing a fall cleanup of the yard. They have been extremely reliable, and my lawn looks great. I also had them trim three trees and cut down two trees. The cost was extremely reasonable, and they did a great job! All the debris was removed, and they ground up the stump on the one tree that was in my yard. I would definitely recommend this company, and I plan to use them for snowplowing this winter.

This was a tricky project. In preparing to sell my home I knew I needed to do something about the arbovitae that had overgrown my front sidewalk. When Kelly came to see the job, he warned me that pulling the trees could result in the sidewalk coming up or cracking, and that this would necessitate relaying the concrete, an expensive proposition. Knowing how much work I was doing to prepare my home for sale, he worked with me to budget for the "worst case scenario," being flexible with payment and working with a concrete person. I was more than a little pleased when the trees came up without any damage to the concrete. I feel he did quality work and kept me informed.
