Luke demolished the old concrete stairs on the front and side of my house, and had the city inspector of St. Paul come out on the same day. The inspector approved the existing footings and OK'd Luke to build the two sets of stairs. Both sets of stairs were completed in two days. Luke showed an excellent attention to detail. He notched the cedar stairs so they would fit perfectly under my stucco. He took a router to every piece of cedar on my stairs to give the wood a perfect finished look. He also hand sanded the railing to make a perfect fit where the pieces b*** against each other. Many have commented on the quality and the stairs. One person said it looks like Luke really takes pride in his work. I would agree. Luke was prompt, and the project came in on-budget and on-time. My wife and I were blown away with what we got for our money. Luke is excellent to work with and in addition the yard was immaculate when he was finished. Call Luke. It was easily the most enjoyable contractor experience I've ever had.

Luke is absolutely fabulous. We could not have had a better experience. He explained all the codes and what might be able to be salvaged of the old deck to save us some money. He built the new deck such that should we want to put a 3 or 4 season porch on it it's all set to go. He is very personable and the quality of his work is impeccable. He really takes pride in his work. We would recommend him without reservation. In fact, we're going to be having him back to do some carpentry work inside the house! While we were shocked at the cost of a deck (it's just a DECK!) Luke's estimate was within a couple hundred dollars of the other two we received. He knew the codes better than the other contractors and talked us out of some short cuts that we're sure we wouldn't have liked in the long run. He also recommended a landscaper to finish off the work and someone to fix the gutters from where the old cover had been torn down. He followed through to make sure we were happy with both of those choices. We ended up going with someone else for the gutters (long story) but his landscaper was also FABULOUS and I'll be writing up that report shortly.

The overall project went very well. Luke was professional and upfront about all costs and the project itself. Our lawn was very wet from all of the rain we received this fall and we live on a hill that slopes and collected water. Luke told us there would be some damage to our yard from the equipment needed to haul the debris out and the new decking in. He and his fellow workers made sure they stayed within the damaged area and kept it to a minimum. He also graded over the damaged area upon completion of the project so all we will have to do is add some grass seed in the spring & it will be good as new. Our new deck looks absolutely wonderful and we are very happy with the outcome.
