The veterinarians at Southview took the time to read our pet's extensive medical records, and interviewed us about her medical and behavioral history. They developed a collaborative treatment plan, presenting all available options, answered our many, many questions. We did not want our animal to have another surgery, so we settled on a plan of inpatient medical care.
Our cat was hospitalized for 2 days. They allowed us to visit as often as we liked, made sure she had her favorite toy, and both veterinarians and technicians continued to spend a great deal of time with us answering our questions and advising us on prognosis and treatment options. They even accepted phone calls in the wee hours of the morning so I could ask about my pet's progress.
When our pet was ready for discharge, they wrote down discharge instructions, worked with us to find forms of medications were were certain we could give, and a technician spent time with us making certain that we understood how to give all of the medicines necessary. After discharge, rather than having only one vet who knew her case, they developed a team of 3 veterinarians who all knew her chart and could take questions and advise us on the nursing care our pet needed.
Our cat is now one month post discharge from this hospital. The veterinarians and techs have likely saved us over $1000 because they are willing to answer so many questions, and change prescriptions as needed, through e-mail and telephone communication. The costs for inpatient care there were also lower than other practices that had seen our cat. The medical records they provided made it easy to submit costs to our veterinary health insurance company and receive reimbursement.

My family has used Southview Vet since approx. 1996 . Never have we been dissatisfied . Dr. Foster has always been available when we have needed him. He is very empathetic. Over the last 5 years we have seen several of the other vets and have always been extremely satisfied with the knowledge and professionalism from each one. We drive 50 minutes to get to them but sometimes thats just what you do for one of your family.

They've been my veterinarians for the past 20 years, and I've always had great experiences with them. Dr. Foster, the owner, is very compassionate, has a great rapport with the animals, and provides excellent care for competitive prices. I would definitely recommend them to others.

We have been quite satisfied with Southview. Animal Hospital. All of the staff is friendly and professional. The doctors are very knowledgeable and caring. They help to over see and provide great care for our pets. The hours of operation make it easy to make appts. or get supplies. Also they are one of the few vet clinics that l know of that do their own emergency calls! We have been clients for approx 20 y

I used to Love southview animal hospital. The last couple of months have been so disappointing. Back in June I brought in my 3 senior cats. It cost me over 400.00 for wellness exams and vaccinations. The exams, performed by Dr. Godinez, took about 5 minutes total- after waiting in the room for approximately 30-40 minutes with 3 upset cats- and her exams were less than thorough. She looked at cat # 1 and said he had some dental disease and put him down- no recommendations on what to do about that. Looked at cat # 2 and said, and quot;he could lose some weight.and quot; Again, no recommendations on how to do that in a multi-cat household. Looked at cat # 3, who was 16 years old and had been losing weight and recommended a blood panel. I discussed this with her making it VERY VERY VERY clear that I would not be treating any health conditions with pills due to her age, resistance to pills, and poor health. I get a call later in teh day stating, and quot;your cat has hyperthyroidism her prescription is ready at the front desk.and quot; guess what? they were pills. I also had to POINT OUT a tumor on this cat's neck, probably a thyroid tumor, that was quite prominent but she didn't notice it. She still recommended vaccinations for this cat who had to be put down less than a month later due to progressive disease.
Brought cat # 3 to Southview to be put down. Again, a long wait even though we had an appointment. Thehe vet did a great, caring job. The tech managed to drop my dead cats head on the floor in front of us, proceeded to make clay paw prints in front of us (they press very hard) and also left her dead body in the room with us when she went to get the paw print kit.... it was almost comedic if it hadn't been so sad.
Fast forward... we adopt a new kitten through last hope and pre-paid the spay. Guess what? it was at Southview... I chalked up our last experiences to a fluke because I USED TO RAVE about the care at Southview, but our kitten was spayed yesterday (again a wait when we picked her up and they had to page a tech twice to bring her to the front), her incision came open about 2 hours after we were home. Went back today and was given a cone (which we cannot get to stay on) and antibiotics. She also seemed to have developed a severe obsession with water after going under anesthesia. When we asked about that we got, and quot;kittens will do that.and quot; no advice on how to stop this behavior, etc. The cone wont stay one and they don't want to prescribe any calming medications. Our kitten is extremely active and I suspect we will be back again with an open incision.
I am telling EVERYONE I KNOW to avoid Southview. I work at a very large organization and have already started to spread the word. I am also posting on facebook and reviewing where I can. I gave them 3 chances to be the Southview that I used to love. I'm sad that Southview has taken such a horrible turn. Dr. Foster and Stephanie at the front desk are the only two good people who work there it seems.
PLEASE AVOID THIS VET AT ALL COSTS. SO MANY VETS TO CHOOSE FROM, WHY TAKE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER TO A PLACE WHERE MONEY SEEMS TO BE THE BOTTOM LINE :( so sad. I hope Dr. Foster takes control of his business and brings southview back to the extraordinary animal hospital that it used to be.

They were OK. The techs were too rough so we did not go back. They charge too much, all of the Veterinarians charge a lot.

I have been going to them for about five or six years. I usually bring my dog in for a checkup. My dog has epilepsy so I have to get a prescription re-filled approximately every two to three months. Their location is close to my home and the breeder I bought my dog from happened to have contact information about this vet. Since I knew my breeder took his dog there, they seemed pretty reputable. It seemed like have had quite a few different veterinarians to help me. They probably have multiple doctors there. The staff is really friendly. Every time I have taken my dog there they have done a courtesy call asking how everything is going with her within a day or two of our appointment. They want me to let them know if anything about my dog's condition changes. The pricing is reasonable - not outstanding, but definitely not the worst.

They were very efficient, nice and it worked out well. We had a biospy on our dog and that was not sent right away which was a misunderstanding. Other then that I have no complaints. We have been using them for years.

The experience was so far so good. We just got a puppy and the puppy's initial visit was very good. They did not charge us for it which was very nice. They only charged if they gave any immunizations. I thought they were good value from the word get go. Not charging for new puppy visit, I thought that was very good. Now he would be returning in two weeks for his next set of shots. Initially it was good. They offered some nice services like puppy class. They were quite knowledgeable and had a lot of information. The price was good so far. In terms of punctuality, I would give them a and ldquo;Band rdquo; because we did wait quite a while in the exam room. I would use their services again in the future.

We felt care and attention right from the beginning. Dr. Angle was friendly and approachable and open to our many questions. Over the course of Adam's time at the hospital we always got our questions answered in a timely and caring fashion. Dr. Angle was quick to call us when Adam had his seizure even though it was late at night. She wanted a little more health history and permission to do another blood test to see what was going on. After getting the test results she called back when she said she would. She was clear about the different options (in order to get a better diagnosis) and up front, yet sensitive, about the risks involved and potential outcomes (one of which was euthanasia if things didn't go well.) Obviously, this was a very upsetting time for us. Everyone, from the vets to the vet techs and receptionists, were incredibly friendly and sensitive to our situation. We always felt welcome about visiting Adam even if it was after hours. We never felt we were inconveniencing anyone. In fact, we were encouraged to visit whenever we wanted, and we really appreciated that. Besides Dr. Angle we also dealt with Dr. Godinez and Dr. Hartman. Everyone kept us informed about what was happening. Our only complaint had to do with the billing. When leaving Southview for the last time, right after we had Adam euthanized, Dr. Hartman said something about giving us a $90 credit (we paid the bill before the euthanasia was performed) for services and/or medications not used that day (as this was midday). We called a week later when no credit showed up on our credit card balance. We were referred to Patty, the office manager. She did not know about the $90 credit and said she would talk to Dr. Hartman and get back to us. That was 3 weeks ago, and we have not heard anything one way or the other. Otherwise, our experience with Southview was very positive during a week that was one of the worst ones in our lives.

The hospital is very good. They send us reminders on the shots and vaccinations that are needed for our dogs. They have a 24-hour emergency line. They have actually called in doctors that were off when we had a problem with one of our other pets to do surgery. The place is clean and respectful. The prices are pretty good, but veterinarian stuff is expensive anyway. They have gotten more expensive in the last couple of years. They are very thorough. They don't do anything unnecessary. They find out how we feel about our pet when we have to put it to sleep and they give options on what we would want for our pet. They have private rooms for the euthanasia where we can be with our pet. We can have a separate cremation if we want the ashes back, which is more expensive. They even give us little coffins made of plaster-of-paris for our pets. They are considerate and send us a sympathy card. They are very good at preventative medicine and they explain with graphs and charts so we know what is going on. They are a lot holistic at well. They are not pushy about it. They have several vets and most of the technicians there have been with them for at least ten years. They have a grooming service in the basement and they also kennel dogs. They do all the animals not just cats and dogs.

I have been taking my animals to Southview for at least four years. I like that they have a lot of specialists in house. They have an excellent price. I have always been very impressed with the work that they do. They offer the highest quality care. The owner of the facility lives on the premises of the hospital which is very convenient because you can call anytime of the day and they will answer the call and they will help you. They also participate in Last Hope Rescue and provide veterinarian services. They are great.

I really like taking my pets to this clinic. They are very good with my pets and with me as well. I had a dog pass away and they sent me a sympathy card that I really appreciated also, I had an old cat that they helped me put to sleep because he was very sick.

I had a good experience with them. They are one of the only vets that will tend to reptiles. Brandy and Maurice were two vet techs that worked with my animals and they are great. I will definitely use them in the future.

The groomers, Sandy assisted by Rebekah, were wonderful. I am very happy with the haircut my cat received and my cat is happy too. They are true cat lovers. The reception desk is for the veterinary clinic and the grooming salon and is a bit chaotic.

They went the extra mile for my cat. They had to spray gas into the cage to sedate my cat. When it started to have an effect on her they pulled her out of the cage and administered the rest of the sedative through a mask. The gas also affected the vets. Her blood sugar later went low at 4 am, so we brought her in and they saved her life. Dr. Foster is great. They specialize in treating fractious animals and difficult situations. I prefer Dr. Foster and Dr. Kaiser, they are excellent.
