Tim D. has no business being a home inspector. He decided to tank the sale of the house by stating there was significant hail damage, which there was not. Insurance said roof is fine. Qualified roof inspector said roof was fine. Buyer gave us report and demanded $20k off the sale for the roof. Now we can't sell the house until we have a written report discrediting the InSight inspection. Tim also was unable to figure out if outside water faucets were winterized. No license or training to operate as home inspector, so this is what you get.

HomeSight Inspections was a great company to work with and I highly recommend. They are on the higher end of the price spectrum (especially because we opted for the Radon test), but absolutely worth the money. They were very friendly and easy to work with during the scheduling of the appointment, and the inspection technician was prompt and friendly. My favorite part was that Jim walked us through the house at the end of the inspection and answered ALL of our questions. I appreciate the professionalism and feel that we got a very accurate description of the state of the home we were buying which allows us to negotiate again with the seller to compete several repairs that Jim outlined. The other great part about working with HomeSight is the PDF document they send after the inspection, complete with pictures and descriptions of their findings. This will be useful as we begin to do work on the home.

Jonah did the inspection. He explained everything and iwas very knowledgeable. It was obvious he didn’t simply take the test to be an inspectir... he has actually worked in the field as a contractor.

The first property had structural issues that were revealed by the inspection. The structural issues combined with other details about the house resulted in my decision to look at other properties. I hired HomeSight for my second inspection because I was so pleased with their professionalism and attention to detail. During the second inspection I was able to be present and see firsthand how detailed their inspections are. My inspector was patient with all of my questions and never made me feel foolish for asking them. I am still learning a lot about all the moving parts of a house and was nervous about the inspection process. Everyone I interacted with from HomeSight reassured me I was in good hands and took a lot of the stress out of a stressful time. P.S. I would recommend the radon test. It is an additional cost but worth it for the ease of mind. Oftentimes radon mitigation systems can be negotiated with sellers.

The inspector arrived on time and spent the full 4 hours going over the entire home. The inspector took the time to explain all of his findings, recommendations for repairs as well as helping us to understand the inner workings of the home (i.e. Furnace, Air Conditioner, Hot Water heater).

I called and made an appointment on Thursday evening for Monday morning - I arrived 5 minutes late for the appointment, and Jim had already walked the property and began taking notes. I'm not an expert at residential construction, though I am in the industry and know a little. Jim let me follow him around during the whole inspection and pointed out to me areas of concern and what could be done to mitigate issues. He knew the ins and outs of each and every detail of every piece of the property, down to the window strings not being thoroughly installed. He tested systems and made recommendations based on what he saw. The report he sent after was insightful, diligent, and professional. His passion for homes and home components was readily evident throughout the process. If you are buying a home, get a home inspection. If you are buying a home in Homesight Inspection's service area, I heavily recommend you use them.

Thankfully the inspection didn't turn up anything scary but Jim was very helpful explaining things. We received a detailed report with photos in less than 12 hours after our inspection. The report showed the problem and the severity of it. Anything that was a more severe concern he made sure to explain what would need to be done to remedy the problem if there was something that could be done.

My inspector was timely and prepared. He inspected the grounds, roof, siding, windows, fixtures, bathrooms, air exhausts, furnace, AC, washer, driver, dishwasher, stove, bathrooms, attic, crawl space, etc. I appreciated his willingness to allow me to watch him as he inspected and make sure my questions were answered. He also used a thermal camera to identify any leaks or air gaps. The inspector was very friendly when I had follow-up questions after the inspection was completed. He was prompt in my phone calls and was able to talk about my home after the inspection. I received a detailed report including photos and a risk-based action list, which I appreciate as a "to-do" list after move in. I lastly had a radon test performed, which was a separate cost of $159 for the 3 day test. I recommend this company although the cost may appear higher than competition. I did also appreciate the invoice break out by costs including travel costs.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with HomeSight Inspections. Scheduling the appointment was easy and the staff was very responsive. They even sent a reminder email which I very much appreciated! My home inspector was Jonah and he was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. He allowed me to follow him around and answered all of my (probably dumb) questions in lay terms that didn't end up confusing me even more. At every point, Jonah would explain what he was doing and why, along with why is was important. He continually talked me through things and let me know if there were any concerns. At the end of the inspection, Jonah gave me a short summary/recap which definitely helped as I may have been slightly overwhelmed. The official report (general inspection and radon) was in my email inbox in well under 24 hours. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with this company from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Matt's inspection was very thorough, revealing no major defects. It allowed us to list several minor repairs which the seller agreed to. In addition, his report is so detailed it is kind of a home user manual, outlining the maintenance we'll need to schedule.

Matt was recommended by our realtor and I'm very glad he was. Who knew a home inspection would be fun. My fiance and I spent about 3 hours inspecting our new home with Matt. We learned a lot about how things work and maintenance items we'd need to perform. After our inspection we're confident there won't be any surprises after our home purchase.
Matt is extremely knowledgeable and has some fancy tools to find potential issues. His infrared camera found a leak in a tub that would not have been found otherwise. Because of the information we were able to request the current owners fix the issue prior to closing.
The report we received was thorough and professional. Each identified issue included a picture. This is very helpful to remember exactly where and what the issue is.
We plan on living in our new home a long time, but if we ever move we'll be giving Matt a call to inspect our next home.

I am very glad I went with Matt. He is slightly more expensive but worth every penny - much better than the home inspection I had on my previous house. He explains all issues identified as he goes through the property. I was very impressed with the thermal imager he used to help diagnose potential water / mold problems. With it he was able to see a poorly insulated area in the ceiling that he later verified when we inspected the attic. The radon test came back positive and he gave me good contacts to call to fix it. I felt he was very professional and really strove to provide me with all the information about the house prior to purchase.

The inspection went very well, he found a few minor issues and was able to recommend how we would have to fix them. After meeting Matt, we definitely knew he would be our home inspector for the life of this home and any other home we decide to purchase.

Very good job. He was able to do the inspection with very little notice and he was very thorough. He explained several of the appliances to me and what I should do with them for maintenance. He even gave a slide show of potential issues I could come across. His final report was in color too, nice touch.
