They are not cheap.
Steve discussed options, gained an understanding of what we wanted, and quoted accordingly. His attention to detail was excellent. His desire to do things the way we wanted was very much appreciated. His knowledge helped us make some good decisions.
The project consisted of putting in black dirt fill, grading and tamping, installing black plastic covering and edging, putting in landscape rock, and planting several hydrangea plants. Steve also applied black dirt to various low spots and bare spots in the front lawn and applied grass seed to these areas. This was an and quot;extraand quot; that we had not previously discussed that we very much appreciated.
The curb appeal of this area in front of our home has improved at least 1000%! We have no reservations about using Steve again. In fact, we are so impressed with Steve that we are considering having him do one or two more small landscaping projects when our time and budget permit.
I knew I wanted rock around my home and a larger section at the front door and that was about it. Steve made a plan and gave me options – he actually talked me into doing something that was less expensive. I wanted a paver boarder around my home, which was presented as an option along with the option of plastic trim around the home. He had a third option I didn’t think about which only had paver trim around 3/4th of the house, skipping a side that is very rarely seen by myself or guests. I would have probably had him put paver all around had he not presented that money saving option.
He let me pick my stones and pavers from online photos since I didn’t want to take the time to see them in person. Landscaping was a requirement to get my certificate of occupancy. I had a one day window to complete the job (the day after the driveway and sidewalk was laid and the day before the sod) and he made this work into his schedule.
He showed up on time and got the job done on time. He actually turned out to be “life saver” since my husband had assured me he was going to put the trees in himself. Trees were also a requirement for the certificate of occupancy. My husband’s plans fell through. Steve took time out to call his supplier and asked for them to do me a favor. They let me come and pick two trees, loaded them in the back of the truck and charged very little. Steve used his equipment to unload the truck and he planted the trees for me. The trees needed to have at least a 3 inch thick trunk and there is no way my husband could have done this by himself.
