STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!
We took some items into the store "New Uses". The first item we brought in from the parking lot was a dehumidifier. Before driving to the store, I spoke with the store twice; the first time to find out if they would evaluate the item and the second to describe its condition. We had many items to bring in but we didn't want to struggle with the heavy de-humidifier if they weren't interested. We were told that they would look at it along with our other things.
As we entered the store the clerk barked, " What's that?" (No greeting, no welcome.) We told her and she snarled, "We don't take de-humidifiers." We explained that we had been told in two separate phone calls that they would be interested. She spoke to us in an accusatory tone to demand, "Who told you that?" When I stated the man's name she turned to him and confirmed that he had indeed told me they would be interested in it. The woman clerk actually carried the de-humidifier to our car in a feeble effort to make things right and apologize. I thanked her she said "It was the least she could do."
Going into this was an adventure. We had very low expectations on what we would be offered for our things. We were actually just curious and we wanted to check out the new store in our neighborhood. We never expected they would want to buy all or even any of our things. But we never expected was to be treated hostility or disrespectfully by the shop staff.
Overall, it made us feel attacked and unsettled.
