It went very well concerning customer service and friendliness and there is always someone available to help me there if your confused about what you need or need help finding something. The last time I was there ,I barely was in the store all the way and a nice man approached me and asked if I needed help with everything,they couldn't of been any nicer , right down to the cashier! Whenever I need a copy or a fax sent to someone or anything fixed in my home that I can do myself I will go out of my way to go to this location in Hopkins, Mn Plus I've tried to find other Ace hardware stores with a fax/copy machine and was not able to find a location anywhere but the Hopkins store! Also this store has an effect somehow that I feel really comfortable and at home when I shop there!

I brought in a snowblower that would not run for checkout . I was given the unit so I had no idea about its history. I asked for and received an estimate of $99 to check out the unit. We agreed they would call when they discovered the cause of the problem and would provide a total estimate for its repair. When I received the call the work was already done and my bill was $130.00. I expected some cost over and above the initial $99 but also wanted the right to say STOP if the total cost to repair was too high. I am OK with the $130 but not in the way it was handled.

I brought the snow blower in late fall because it quit running once warmed up. They mentioned that it may need an expensive part replaced and would call if over $150. They said it would be about 3 weeks. It was 4 weeks, but looking at the number of machines waiting for pick up, I could understand the delay. They called and helped me load it into the trunk of my car.

Original phone call said work would take 3 days. Upon taking mower to the store, I was told it would take a week or so. I left the mower with a request that I would be called when it was done. After 3 weeks with no call, I called them. They said they didn't know what was happening with the mower. The next day I got a call back from the store asking me to describe the mower. I asked why they asked this question. It became clear that they had lost the mower. I gave them the description. They said they would call me back. The owner/manager called back, said the mower was fixed and the service claim tag had fallen off the mower, and they didn't know who to call when it was repaired. He had me come get the mower, apologized and said the repair was on the house. Good ending, but I was lucky to have been able to borrow my neighbor's mower during the 3 weeks mine was in the shop.
