 + -1 moreI go to John because he always gives me great suggestions and ideas for matting and framing. This project was unique because I brought in a yard of wool and a pin with the crest on it so it wasn't your standard picture framing job. His ideas were great, and the piece turned out so beautifully. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Description of Work: John framed the family plaid and crest for me.

 + -1 moreI consulted with owner John regarding how to frame a textile. I had never used this framer before but will definitely again! His professionalism and knowledge of proper techniques was amazing, not to mention the suggestions he made to make my project the best it could be! Custom framing is expensive (hence the "B") but I give John & Robin Dooley - FRAME DESIGN - an A+ for the finished product! It looks wonderful hanging in our home. If you need something framed, I recommend a trip to Hopkins! Not the easiest to find, but worth the search!

 + -1 moreHe had a great selection of frames and was very helpful in assisting us choose the right frame for each painting. We even took a few samples home to help us decide. The framing work was outstanding and made a great wedding gift. He did everything as requested and in a timely manner.

 + -1 moreGreat job. Brought in an old wooden frame that I had and a large historical map of Minneapolis. John was able to frame it with a great acrylic pane at a reasonable price, and even touched up a few nicks in the frame at no charge. Highly recommended, would definitely use again.

 + -1 moreFrom the description above, think it's pretty clear. Friendly and patient guy knows his stuff and does good work. Has a good selection of frames and mats. Does not pressure the customer into anything, and delivers work quickly. I love to support local business people.
Description of Work: The guy is patient: John was extremely patient while my mother and I looked over frames and mats for four prints. He knows his stuff: he helped us pick out matting and frames. We took a LONG time to figure it out, but it was worth it. He did not rush us at all. No used-car salesperson feeling at all. He let us take our time to make sure we got what we want. We spent almost two hours picking out materials! His work was beautiful. It looks professional and classy. He got the work done swiftly. It was done within days. When he found out there was a time constraint on getting the work done (long story) he really worked with us. I am writing N/A for pricing only because I am not familiar with what the costs generally are for framing. He framed materials with special materials to ensure they would be preserved; he didn't always use glass. The project was not simple. I have gotten items framed in the past, and the prices seem comparable, but this was years ago and in another city. I don't want to say something that isn't accurate.
