BLACKSTONE MANOR CLOCK REPAIR

I left a message requesting service and my call was promptly returned. An in-home visit was scheduled and a courtesy confirmation call made on the day of the appointment. The technician arrived on time and got straight to work. Both clocks were inspected and tuned and working within the hour. The technician indicated that the grand mother's clock would need an overhaul in the near future and explained how to remove the mechanism and pendulum so that it could be brought into the shop and reduce the overall repair cost. The cost for the tune-ups and house call was only $157.00. We very much appreciated the expertise and excellent service. We will definitely call on Blackstone Manor in the future and would highly recommend them.

Clock works in the shop and even after returning it for tweaking, it still doesn't keep running at home. Blackstone is good about taking it back in, but hauling it is a bit of a pain.

Mark was obliging and said he would fix it and keep it there for the three weeks. When he called and said it was ready, he told me that all it needed was oiling, cleaning and adjustment of a couple of screws, cost = $50.00. Had they not been honest, I could have ended up paying considerably more and not known the difference. Blackstone was very accommodating and knowlegeable. They were punctual and the service cost what they said it would. I just thought it was a bit high for two hours of work. i did not have any other estimates so this may be what everyone charges to move a grandfather clock.

It was easy to drop off and pick up in downtown Hopkins. The time it took was several weeks but I didn't have a particular schedule in mind so that was alright. They are very busy.

I called to see if I needed an appt. and I was told to just bring it in. When I brought it in, he looked at it, gave me an estimate and wanted to keep it overnight to make sure it kept time. He called me mid-morning the next day to say my clock was ready to be picked up. Very professional and knowledgeable. Also, gave me ideas about what to look at for possible repair of a grandfathers clock we have that does not work.

They came out promptly within a week. They are absolutely wonderful. They did a great job in fixing my clock and diagnosing the problem. They came out and installed the new mechanism without any charge. After a month, it started running little bit fast. They came and adjusted it. I’m very pleased with them. Only the mechanism was pricey as it had to be got from Germany. They were extremely knowledgeable. They specialize in older grandfather clocks. I would use them in the future.

Had small cuckoo clock that I had purchased in Germany over 30 years ago as gift for my parents. They had packed it away when it had not worked after their move over 10 yrs ago. Cuckco and bellows were in good shape, Blackstone replaced workings and chain and oiled all exterior wood. They explained all the work they would do before hand. All work was completed as described and their estimate was right on. It's beautiful and looks and works like new. Happily hanging in my dining room!

I was very pleased with their knowledge of clocks. The new shiny chain looked out of place but when asked they were able to retrieve the original chain & replaced it while I waited.

Cottage clock missing some part. Mark said its OK - but it loses 7 minutes in 48 hours & stopped twice today. Went as expected, but only 7 clock is OK.

about the problem I took an old grandfather clock into Blackstone Manor for cleaning and repair. This clock had not worked in several years - and had never kept time accurately despite being repaired twice since we have owned it. This was truly a wonderful experience; the clock was inspected when I brought it in and I was given an explanation about the problems, why it was not running and how it could be fixed. I was given an estimate with the understanding that I would be called if it would cost more. The actual cost came in a little below the estimate. I was also given an approximate date to have it back and that was a little earlier than I expected. The clock has been cleaned, bushings and a spring replaced and it now keeps excellent time. I was told to call if there were any problems and they would handle those problems. It was a delight to work with this company. I highly recommend them!

Mark Purdy at Blackstone Manor Clock Repair did an outstanding job setting up and tuning my family heritage grandfather clock I had moved into the Twin Cities. I asked around who would do a quality job, and Mark was recommended. He showed up when he said he would, was respectful and careful with the grandfather clock, and did a fantastic job tuning it. Without Mark knowing it, before he arrived I checked online what a person should do / not do when handling the workings of a quality grandfather clock.... Mark did it all just as the work should have been done. Highly recommended!

They are very good. I’ve used them for a couple of years. I have no problems with the price that they charge me. They guy knows what he’s doing with the clock. He seems honest. I would have continued to use him if I was in the area, but I now live in the Boston area.

We have used Blackstone in the past, and when we were ready to buy a really nice clock, they kept their eye out and saved one for us, with Westminster chimes. We could not be happier with their interest in helping us find just the right clock. Joff took a personal interest in helping us identify just the clock that we wanted.
