Affordable Granite & Stone

I stopped in to Affordable to start my kitchen countertop research and Kristen was so helpful that I was able to do everything that evening. I found and purchased exactlywhat I liked and scheduled the install. The only hiccup was that they would not take out my existing countertop. No worries, I hired a handyman for that.

From beginning to end, they were wonderful. They have a large selection of Granite however we didn't find exactly what we were looking for, so they referred us to Coldspring and we found the perfect stone for us. Affordable Granite worked with Coldspring to get the slabs we needed sent to them in Hopkins. A super nice guy came out to measure, and answered a lot of my questions. When it was time for the installation two more really polite and nice young men came out. They did an awesome job. The quality of the workmanship is just amazing. Each corner and cutout is perfect. The quality of the finished granite is also just beautiful!

The guys were very friendly and prompt. My job was very difficult because it had over 10 different pieces and sizes. They were very precise and careful to not damage my walls. I would definitely use them again.

They did well. We did have one problem with the back splash where it met the counter top, it was little jaded and it didn't seem to be real finished off so they had to come back and kind of seam it so that it look more finished. They did that just fine. They were very professional and they were younger guys. They did a good job and they cleaned up after themselves. I would use them in the future.

The overall experience was great. From shopping their showroom (during their annual / semi annual bar-b-que), the people in the showroom (on this day some of them were installers & those that cut the stone) - very helpful as to the process, to working with thier Operations Manager, Tim Johnson, all the way through the installation - thanks They did a great job, kept the price on budget, hit our requested delivery date, and were in & out in 6 hours. Just need to get the cole slaw recipe from the bar-b-bque.

This is a mixed review because of 2 different experiences we had with Affordable Granite. We shopped them for kitchen countertops about 1.5 years ago. We went in looking for a Quartz or mable looking countertop. The man helping us totally convinced us we needed to go with marble. Why look for something like marble when you can get the real thing? I had done my research and was sure this was a bad decision but he convienced us it was right for us. We had never bought countertops before and were a little naive. When we were ready to order we had awful communication, we could never get a hold of the salesman who had helped us. We finally went into the location to place the order because we were never getting calls back. They came and measured and installed and were completely professional and courteous. After less than a year we were very unhappy with our countertops. We are a small family of 3 and I use only the recommended products on the counter and am VERY careful, but we are not happy at all with the appearance of the countertops. I have called 3 different times, twice I left messages and once I spoke with someone who said they would get back to me and never did. We would have never bought countertops from them if we had any idea this would be the service after the purchase. We are very disappointed and would not recommend Affordable Granite.

The stone choices were amazing--they have many slabs available to look at, unlike many other places where all you have is a small piece and the slab must be ordered in. The prices were slightly better. The salesperson was knowledgeable and patient--she met with me several times, including when I needed to bring out tile and cabinet colors to check the color match, and when I just needed to look at the slab again to make sure it was the one I wanted. I found them to be very flexible--we had a time crunch to get everything in place before guests arrived for Christmas, and they were able to do the measurements, prepare the granite, and install within the space of time we needed--I was very grateful. And the granite is beautiful. I used the sinks they supplied, which were much less expensive, and just as high a quality. The workers who resealed the granite in my kitchen also fixed small holes where some of the stone had come out. I was very happy with the entire experience.

The two men that came to do the work were just fine. However our salesperson was awful. Did not have have a clue what he was doing and did not remember who we were or what we were they for when we went in to sign the final paperwork (after notifying when we would be in). AND after the installation no one at the company contacted us to see if everything went well, if there were any issues, etc. Bascially, once the sale was made we were no longer important to them. We will be replacing all of our kitchen countertops next and definitely WILL NOT use Affordable Granite. No customer service and their prices are no better than elsewhere.

Where do I start. We moved here from CA about a year ago. The home we purchased was in dire need of updating. We found AGand C using Angie's List and decided to give them a try. After all, they had a good rating and were only a few miles from our house. The first purchase was a small bathroom vanity top to the tune of $500. The experience was OK. Nothing extraordinary. Our second experience was a complete an utter disappointment. It goes something like this: 5/3 – We pick out the stone. 5/11 – We put a deposit down (they managed to lose). We’re told we’ll receive a call for an official measurement the following week. 5/13 – 5/20 - No one calls for the measurement. 5/20 – I call and leave a message requesting a measurement. 5/24 – I get a voice-mail from Jenna stating someone will call me to measure…she doesn't know the schedule…so she can’t tell me when. What's the point of this call besides confirming how disorganized you are? 5/27 – Jesse comes out to measure. Jesse tells me he'll put a rush on it. It should be installed early next week. 6/3 – Still no installation date. I call and ask to speak with the manager who’s and quot;not in.and quot; I leave yet another message. Three hours later I get a call back from Tim who tells me there is an opening tomorrow. No apology, no sympathy, no acknowledgement of my frustration. Just a simple here is your installation date. The timeline above proves how disorganized, chaotic, and careless this business is. Seriously, how can it take this long to get a 12 sq. ft. island installed at a property less than 2 miles from your business? Every time I look at my island I'm reminded how awful their service is. I would highly recommend finding another vendor for your cabinet/granite needs.

Received a quote from Bob W. Have not given him the order yet. Have used them in the past and were very pleased with them. Bigger job this time. Their prices are right in line with everyone else. But unlike some of their competitors, they do not gouge you for minimum sq. ft.

It was a good experience working with Peggy at Affordable Granite. She was very helpful and professional. She even laid out the pattern for cutting the granite so the pattern flowed from counter to backsplash. The workers were prompt and did a very good job.

Met with Peggy to start the process. She was excellent and helpful throughout our entire experience. Chose granite slab, met with the measuring/drawing design person who did a great job, and quot;laid outand quot; kitchen countertop on the actual granite slab, approved, and then installed. Ryan and Tom installed and were great - beautiful job, seaming excellent, and overall great experience. (Regarding pricing - not sure as we did not get any other bids but it seemed reasonable given our countertop size.)

Excellent experience from the showroom to the installation. Keith met us in the Hopkins store, gave us a tour and explained their services/pricing. He left us to peruse the stock and checked on us occasionally and gave us a bid on several different granite possibilities. After we decided to go with Affordable Granite, the final quote was sent immediately and a measurement was scheduled. The measurements were done and an install was scheduled for the next week! The crew showed up on time, immediately put down floor protection tarps and went right to work. They took their time and made sure everything was leveled and completed the install. It looks wonderful!

They came out and measured and gave us a quote. They were wonderful to work with and I'd recommend them to anybody.

They were punctual. The workers were nice and the product was good.

We also visited the Hopkins store and were booted out of the store by the salesman who told us " we don't have anything for you.". We were looking for granite for about $60.00 a square foot. Instead of the salesman explaining the price also included installation which would make their price affordable he stuck his nose in the air and would not help us. Really?? We were ready to spend $3500 on countertops and we get attitude. Thanks but no thanks.

I am in market for a nice granite countertop for my kitchen aprox 42 sqf..so I have been looking at different places. I stopped by here in Hopkins location. Female sales person was very distant. She quickly showmed the slabs. She did not try to sell at all. She did not ask any questions about my project. It was very hard to talk to her. She ended up giving me an estimate. The pricing was average. I left feeling bad about my experience. I almost made up my mind. I will spend almost $5K at a different place . This place definetely lost my potential business. This provider response is not right. The salesperson did not spend over an hour with us at all. Obviously she did not do her job well or we would have bought something. I never said they were expensive but they were not cheap either..Like I said above they were average, mid market price! As you can see from provider response that they are very defensive. I think what makes a better company is to be able to apologize, find ways to make service better when people complain. I took time to write a response here in hopes for that but they seem full of themselves!

We met with Luke the sales person and he showed us granite samples. He helped us find one that went perfectly in our basement to coordinate with the carpet and some existing granite on our fireplace. Within the month we had our new countertops. They do not do demolition but do recommend people who can if you don't want to do it yourself. The installers were very professional and did a fabulous job. We love the new granite and would use their services again if we ever needed something like this again.

We went to visit the showroom in Hopkins to look at and price out granite for new kitchen countertops. The showroom is nice and we were able to walk around back and look at all the slabs. The salesman that helped us was knowledgable and present enough for us to ask questions, but didn't hound us as we looked around. We asked to get an estimate. The salesman said he would write it up and email it to us the following day. We expressed interest in a specific granite color, but there were no samples of this particular color to take home. After getting the emailed estimate, I inquired with the salesman to see if he could locate or get a small sample of the granite color we liked (so that we could see if it matched our new cabinets). I never heard back from the salesman again... no reply or attempt to help us further. We did not go with this granite company, but did find another granite company where we purchased our new countertops for a comperable price.

I spent about $1800 for their service. The work was excellent. The price was very good. They were top notch. The workmanship was also very good. Crystal, the office staff member was excellent in communication. Their installers were great too. Everything was well done and there was no mess. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

They did a great job. Luke the salesman was very responsive. The measurer did a great job as we had a unique corner to deal with and the install went very well. Countertops look great. These guys were $1,000 less than our other quote.

Both guys worked well, they were friendly and neat. They removed their shoes entering our home.

I think they could have done a better job matching the grouts. Otherwise, they did an okay job. The work went pretty good, but they did not match the grout to what I would have liked. They did a good job in painting.
