The house was hit by a hail storm and I contracted Sherco to replace the roof. Along with that I was going to have the fence that was blown down in the storm replaced and some siding patched up (from having put some windows put in).
The guy he contracted to fix the siding and put up a gutter by the entry did a horrible job. He put in siding pieces that were less than 6and quot; in some places. When my X-husband confronted Sherco; the guy lost his temper with him and I could hear him yelling and swearing over the phone. It never did get corrected.
The section of gutter the guy put up was done well, but ended up being installed too high for a metal roof, so the snow coming off the metal roof bent it up.
I really like the metal roof I had put on since with the design of the house we have had constant issues with ice damns and water coming in, but there were consequences. As a general contracter he should have been aware of the problems associated with metal roofs. I, as the home owner, am not the expert and if you hire this company; you better be. The snow coming off the roof bent up all my gutters. Turns out this is a common problem and it should have been addressed in the beginning. The snow coming down also hit one of the plumbing exhaust pipes, so in the spring I had water coming in my kitchen cupboards.
I first called Sherco about the problems with the gutters and the leak before Christmas and I didn't get anyone out until April, and all that happened was the roof contractor resealed the pipe and did nothing to prevent it from happening again.
The owner refused to do anything about my gutters. With them being all bent this summer I had water in my basement again. He didn't care one little bit.
The up charge Sherco charged on the job was 20% (profit margin) and for that I got nothing.
Still don't have the gutters repaired since the only real option is to go with gutter guard and I don't have $5000. I had a friend take down the really damaged gutters and I layed plastic along side the house to try and reduce the water coming in the basement.

We are very happy with this builder. He was very accommodating when it came to moving our belongings, etc. We needed to be out of our prior home at least 1 day before the closing of our current home. It was quite challenging for us to figure out what to do with our things especially since we were hiring professional movers to move our belongings. Tom Carlisle, owner, allowed us to move our things into the garage of our current home the day before closing. We thought that this was quite flexible on his part and are very grateful. We had a minor issue; i.e. deck not being stained before closing (due to vasts amount of rain this season)--they thought it was done, but it wasn't. All it took was a quick call and a couple days later someone from his company was here to stain the back deck. Also a few questions about the house, (i.e. irrigation) that we have not thought of before. We feel that the response time was excellent and Tom, and his son Joe, and the rest of the staff were all very pleasant to work with. We are impressed with the quality of the work. We are planning on staying in this home for a long time--but we would definitely go through them again.

Due to the termination of contract Mr. Carlisle got angry and took us to court. He summoned us to come to court in September. On October 10th he had an appointment he had to keep, so we said we could go on December 12th. On December 12th the judge had known Mr. Carlisle so my husbanded decided to have a new judge. On January 9th after a long drawn out process to have the case looked at, a hearing took place. At this time Mr. Carlisle tried to bargain with my husband to let the case go if we payed him $7494.82 which included the cost of him taking us to court. We declined the bargain. Once we had our hearing it took the judge 21 days to render her judgment that we had not violated the contract. She determined that the contract was invalid. He has had until February 22nd to take us to Civil Court if he so chose. That has come and gone and no action has been taken.
