Overall did a decent job installing the sprinklers - several areas that I needed to fix on the lawn and landscaping. They pulled up pavers and tried to put them back as best as they could. Given the installation of 5 zones, there was small yard damage. It would have been great if they would have done spray grass seeding on the areas that they dug up that were just dirt afterwords. The real problem that I had was I had my car parked in my driveway so they could access the wall in the garage to install the water control panel. When they moved stuff in my garage to get access to the wall, during the move they broke 2 large mirrors (40" x 72") and with my car being in the driveway, did over $900 in damage to the car. In the pictures, you can see that there is dirt from my yard that is on my car right next to the scratches. When I contacted them, they said that Scott the owner would get back to me on Monday. He sent me an email saying that his guys didn't do it so they would offer me a complimentary winterization to help make up for the damage. The winterization costs $79. If you do hire them for your yard, make sure that you have cameras on anything that could be damaged to make sure you can show and prove to the owner. As a side note, when the plumber that they contracted with came out, I needed to spend an extra $150 for a water shut off valve because I didn't have one. Would have been nice to have them tell me that prior to that so that I was prepared or build that into the estimate as a possible bill.

Green lawn came out to service our sprinklers, at that time they discovered a leak in the ball valve and notified us they would send someone out to fix it, but it would be an added charge, which was surprising because they serviced the system in the fall. They turned on the system and left.  Over three weeks later, they came to fix the ball valve, left a $105 bill and left, without finishing the "spring tune-up".  This is understandable as the plumber that fixes the leak isn't an expert on the sprinkler system.  That left us with a sprinkler system that had sprinklers pointed in the wrong direction and some that didn't function at all.  When we received the bill, I called and left multiple messages, no one got back to me.  After the next bill came I sent a few emails asking for clarification - no response.  I attached letters to the bill, no response.  Finally after contacting the Better Business Bureau, they started communicating with me.  Very frustrating experience.  I ended up paying for the tune-up and replacing the ball valve, which I shouldn't have had to do.

They were not on time for sprinkler service, although they did come and get the job finished at a late hour and found them to be friendly and professional.
Though we have had our system a short time, the sprinkler system appears to work well and has good coverage.
ANd as others have noted, the price is very good.

I'm not really happy with the job. It was not done as they first had said. I did get some money knocked off of the bill due to their inability to do the whole job, however; I am still not satisfied with the job. The quality is fine for what they installed. I just feel I did not get what I asked for.

If you value your time don't go with Greenlawn. On June 3, 2010 I had a sprinkle system install for appox $1800.  The issue I had was I told them I was coming from work to meet them to install and they said I only need to be there in the beginning and they then gave me the window of 12- 1 to be there.  On the day they were to be at my home starting at 2:00 I called asking where they were and I had to call several times I was told it would be about an hour.  Well it was almost 6:00 and they finally showed up and they had to come back the next day after they did their other jobs to finish my home when they finished on on the second day it was late and dark so I could not see what was being water.  When I checked they missed a section of the yard that could not be corrected by adjusting the heads and they did come back and added two head to correct. Another thing is that I never received any type of paperwork about the system, I don't know if that is normal.  I thought their being late was a one time thing but I was wrong.  This spring I called them to start it back up since I thought they do something special.  This time they gave me a larger window 8 - 1 and I questioned that and was told they don't give smaller windows.  So I stay at home from work and after 1:00 I called and asked where they were she put me on hold and contacted the worker and was told it would be appox another hour and told them this was no way to run a business and they should respect the customers time, but they clearly do not.  The worker showed up at 2:22 I watch what he did and he was done in less then 15 minutes and I easily could have done what he did if I knew that what the only thing they did for the $80(put the cap on & verify all the sprinklers are working).  They picked the date and time and I was flexible with that, but when they do that and have a 5 hour window they could be within that time.  I value my time to much and even though I don't need to be home to shut down they system with them in the fall I will be going with another company in the future for all my spinkler service needs since this Greenlawn does not respect their customers.

I will definitely use them again because I used to use them in my old house. They show up when they say they would and provide very good service. Their price was in accordance with their quote. They were very helpful and really worked with me to get the sprinklers where I wanted them. They have a service where they have a biodegradable fertilizer system. They come every month and put a different kind of fertilizer in the system. I really liked that because I didn?t have to do anything. They just changed the old for the new and that was it. Green Lawn Underground Sprinkler offers a little bit more service than somebody who comes in and just installs a system.

While they do good work, the workers are professional and friendly .... they "over-schedule" and are not good with being on time. For my start up - they were 3 hours early (so I wasn't home yet) and I had to argue with them to come back and finish the job (which they eventually did) .... for my shut down, they were 2 hours late - which made me have to cancel my plans for that day so that I could be here waiting for them. I called to complain - and their response was not professional at all .... just "you don't have to be there, so it's not our fault. we can come anytime that day" .... NO .... I scheduled an exact time so that I would be home to talk to them, I was given a 6 hour window of time, and they were still 2 hours late. That, to me, is unacceptable. After much discussion, I was given a free start up for next year as an apology ... now I just have to decide if I want to use them again based on my experience with them this year.

They first started the project late. Since the company is located far away they were under the impression it was raining that day, so they didn't even bother come or call telling me they were not going to come. They are normally booked solid, so if you miss an appointment they had to see about squeezing me into their book. They didn't come out for about four to 5 weeks. This was even when I had paid them in advance and I practically had to beg them to come and put in the sprinkler system. They were absolutely horrible. The work was okay, but they failed to tell me that they had accidentally cut the phone line, and tried to sneak off after they finished the job. In the fall they were supposed to winterize the sprinklers for us, I again paid in advance, and they never called, there was absolutely no communication what so ever. I had to find someone else to come out to winterize the water line.

We installed Rain Bird sprinkler system in July 2006. Overall, the company did a good job. However, we expected more professionalism and personal attention to our needs and wants. The whole project felt very rushed to us, with poor quality control. We had to go through everything and point out defects ourselves. Not surprisingly, the company had to come back to perform warranty work on our system: water pipe was leaking, one head was leaking, and the controller died during a thunderstorm. On all occasions, when we called about the problems, the company was very responsive and polite and completed repairs right away.

John arrived on time, and was very professional and polite. He walked me thru the full start up. He verified that there were no leaks in any of the pipes, and was very careful about the whole process. He asked me if I had any concerns from last season, and adjusted the sprinkler heads to adjust for those areas. He verified that my system was working and "set to go" for the season. My only complaint is that the company was so busy this year due to the strange weather we've had, that they didn't come out until mid-May to start the system ... I would have preferred a few weeks earlier.

WE INITIALLY AGREED ON A PRICE AT THE TIME OF THE ESTIMATE AND WHEN THE CREW CAME OUT FOR THE JOB, THEY TRIED TO INCREASE THE COST. THEY BELIEVED THAT THE SALESMAN DID NOT ESTIMATE THE JOB CORRECTLY. WITHIN MINUTES OF STARTING THE WORK THEY CUT THROUGH THE CABLE TV LINE. I HAD TO HAVE A NEW CABLE LINE INSTALLED. WHEN THEY COMPLETED THE WORK THEY LET TRASH BEHIND AND DIDN'T BOTHER CLEANING UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THE CREW ALSO IGNORED MY WISHES OF STAYING OFF A PART OF THE LAWN THAT WAS JUST PLANTED WITH PRAIRIE GRASS AND FLOWERS. THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB OF RESTORING THE LAWN AFTER THE INSTALLATION. I HAVE ALSO SPENT A LOT OF TIME FIXING UP AREAS THAT THEY DESTROYED THIS SUMMER. TO TOP IT ALL OFF I REALIZED TWO OF THE SPRINKLER HEADS WERE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY AND I HAD TO GET A SECOND CREW OUT TO REPAIR THE WORK WHICH WAS ANOTHER INCONVENIENCE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING THIS COMPANY FOR SPRINKLER SYSTEM WORK.

DESPITE TELLING THE COMPANY EMPLOYEE ABOUT ALL OF OUR UTILITIES AND MARKING THEM/HAVING THEM MARKED, THEY STILL CUT AT LEAST THREE UTILITY LINES. THIS CAUSED US ADDITIONAL EXPENSES, SINCE THEY REFUSED TO PAY FOR REPAIR. ALSO, DIDN'T ACCURATELY INSTALL IN THE LOCATIONS SPECIFIED. THEY UPGRADED OUR PANEL (NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE) TO ''MAKE-UP'' FOR MISTAKES. THEY ALSO PURPOSELY INSTALLED THE PIPE (WHICH YOU USE TO BLOW OUT THE LINES AT THE END OF THE SEASON) FACING THE HOUSE, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO GET AT FOR YOU, YOURSELF TO BLOW OUT. THUS REQUIRING A VISIT FROM THEM FOR AROUND $70 TO BLOW IT OUT EACH YEAR.

THEY ASKED FOR A PLOT MAP (WHICH I GAVE THEM) AND INSTALLED SPRINKLER LINES BUT THEY WERE ON MY NEIGHBOR'S PROPERTY. THEY HAD TO MOVE THEM. WHILE DOING SO, MY FENCE BUILDER BROKE ANOTHER LINE PUTTING IN A POST. HE HAD ASKED THEM WHERE ALL THE SPRINKLER LINES WERE. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE SOME SORT OF MAPPING BUT THEY WERE WISHY-WASHY ABOUT ACTUAL LOCATION. THE FENCE PEOPLE PAID THEM $50 AND THAT PART WAS RESOLVED. THEY ALSO PUT IN SPRINKLERS THAT SPRAY ACROSS THE SIDEWALK TO MY GRASS (WHICH I DON'T LIKE). I THINK THERE SHOULD BE "MISTERS", AS WE HAVE A FERTILIZER SYSTEM INSTALLED AND ALL THAT GOES ON SIDEWALK GETS WASHED DOWN THE SEWER, COSTING ME MORE AND POLLUTING. I ASKED THEM WHY THEY PUT THE SPRINKLER HEAD ON THE STREET SIDE OF THAT AREA BECAUSE I AM AFRAID THEY WILL GET RUINED BY SNOW PLOWS. WHEN I CALLED ABOUT CHARGES FOR THE BROKEN LINE I WAS ASSURED EVERYDAY OF A RETURN CALL WHICH NEVER CAME BUT I DID RECEIVE A 2ND BILL. THEY DID FINALLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE.

I HAD A QUOTE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY FOR $4100. THEY USED PREMIUM STUFF, ON TIME, GOOD CLEAN UP, GOOD INSTRUCTIONS AND MANUALS OF MAINTENANCE AND USE. THEY GAVE US KEYS TO ADJUST THE SPRINKLER HEADS AND IT SEEMS TO ALL BE WORKING. SO FAR I AM IMPRESSED.

GREEN LAWN WAS THE ONLY COMPANY WILLING TO TAKE THE TIME TO COME OUT AND TALK WITH ME ABOUT INSTALLING THE SYSTEM. THE SALESMAN WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. WHEN WE RAN INTO A PROBLEM AFTER INSTALLATION, REGARDING THE PLACEMENT OF A FEW SPRINKLER HEADS, THEY SENT SOMEONE OUT THE NEXT DAY TO MOVE THE HEADS AT NO CHARGE.
