It did not go well. After the cabinets and countertop were installed we had problems with practically everything that Eischen Cabinet was responsible for in our kitchen. We found that the upper and lower cabinets were not stained uniformly, the granite countertop was not drilled right for our sink faucet, a kitchen wall was not repaired properly so the back splash could not be installed correctly, the plumbing for the new sink faucet was partly done incorrectly, causing it to leak, and the base cabinets were installed partly on and partly off the kitchen?s floating floor. The base cabinets necessitated re-staining, the granite countertop had to be re-drilled, the kitchen wall had to be repaired again and part of the sink faucet plumbing had to be redone. When we contacted Eischen Cabinets about our concerns, we found dealing with its owner Paul Eischen to be very unpleasant and stressful. Overall, we were not satisfied with Eischen Cabinet?s work product or that of the subcontractors they hired.

The design process went slow. We had to keep calling to get things done. After we spent many hours analyzing the design and the exact measurements of what we wanted, the shop person did the second draft and changed things without informing us. So, some cabinets showed up not as we expected. (They tell you things can change a little, but they should tell you when cabinets and drawer dimensions differ from what you have spent hours designing). Additionally, one base cabinet had at least six errors in it (one of which was that we'd have to cut a big hole in the interior wall for our standard sink to fit. We designed the cabinet to fit the sink, so why now do we have to cut a hole in our new cabinets). The owner came to our home to look personally since he said couldn't believe it. He never apologized, just tried to justify why things were the way they were and how they weren't actually wrong. When we explained that we were upset and disappointed and wanted things fixed, he threatened to take all our cabinets down and give us our money back. I have never been treated so unprofessionally by a business owner. He finally agreed to redo some things, but then still remade a cabinet not as we wanted, but as it was written down in a previous draft just to prove a point (yes, hard to believe, but confirmed). He never apologized for anything, and kept trying to imply we were being unreasonable for wanting things right. We like the cabinets themselves, they are very attractive. I like my new kitchen. But I could never recommend Eischen Cabinets at the risk the owner would mistreat another customer. I would never want to risk an experience like that again.
