this business is not trustworthy - after spending one month with meetings, communiques, negotiations, choosing materials, etc for a bathroom remodel, the owner (Scott Karas): 1. presented a verbal bid which was agreed to by both parties 2. emailed a written bid (electronically signed by contractor thru email and good for 30 days) with higher prices than verbal bid (and wanting 70% down payment) 3. was "no-show" for appt the next day to pick up signed bid/proposal and down payment 4. emailed later that day indicating getting cold-feet ("i'm not sure how i want to handle this") 5. one week later, emailed "backing-out" of job ("Crafter's will no longer be available to help you with your project needs") owner was NOT honest with us regarding necessary research into materials being used (a serious health requirement, ADA special accommodations), nor his business relations with the tile company he said he uses (stated he used them all the time, gave them "lots" of business -- the tile company informed me he'd only placed 2 orders under his contractor's account, one had been canceled, and the others was OURS for putting together our bid/proposal). when something needed to be special ordered and had a time limit, he made us do the order/purchase stating he's been burned before (customer backed out after he'd paid for materials). then, he turns around and left us hanging for a full week and then burns us, his customer!! AND burned the store that paid extra shipping to get the special ordered item delivered in a timely manner!! completely unethical in his business dealings. do NOT give him your business!
